    I'm not picky.
So so sad to hear about this. Pretty speechless about it to be honest. I can't really remember but I think my old Nan had dementia and from what I do remember it's * horrible to see a loved one suffer from it.

I think legend is too small a status for Billy's stature. He holds a place that is held above legend status for me. I think he is, and always will be, one of the true icon's of Celtic. No amount of words can fully describe what he means to the whole of the Celtic Family.

    YNWA, Cesar :notworthy

The absolute definition of legend. A dominant figure in our history who had a huge impact in shaping what the club has become. A class act who always represented Celtic in the best way.

It's sad to see such a giant of a man in the state he's in now, but hopefully now this has all been made public it relieves a bit of stress from his loved ones and the club can do their bit for the dementia charities, as they have already alluded to in the statement.

I hope it's some comfort to his family, and Billy himself, that he is so adored and respected - not only by Celtic fans - but by Scottish football and beyond.

    YNWA.

Legend is a word used too much in football but Billy is one of them fully deserving of the word

    Big Billy, * bless him.

Looking at that video of Rangers winning 1-0 in cup, great memory of the big man as our manager.

With all the talk of players from around 40/50& 60years ago suffering dementia , I wasn't sure that it was a consequences of heading the old hard leather ball made even more dangerous with the laced part . It seemed to me that Billie McNeil headed the ball more often than nearly any other player of his era. Not only did he take responsibility for every high ball that he was anywhere near , he was won of the first centre halves to go up front for dead balls but he played for a tremendous long time . Without knowing about poor Billie with the disease, I wasn't sure heading was a prime cause .
Now I understand , I think that football clubs today & football International bodies should be levied , so that all footballers who suffer dementia & theirfamilies can be given some financial aid to assist & make life more comfortable

Really like this picture. Two legendary footballers who look like centurions going into battle for their respective country.
