this is honestly a joke what will people across britain and even europe think about us when a guy like bilic throws his hat into the ring and we go for owen coyle a man who hasn't even managed in the spl. the board is honestly a disgrace and should hang there heads in shame

 

Well, ok. Look at it this way.

Coyle used the tools at his disposal (the players) to do a job (manage Burnley). The job he did was far better than what was expected given the quality of the tools he had.

So, to me, that says a lot about the skill of Coyle.

 

Ancelloti hasn't managed in the SPL would you knock him back to?

Is the SPL really part of the criteria?

Pleaaase Celtic, if you have any respect for the fans you will get us Bilic...definitely seems like the most popular choice. Definitely want him.

 

no but Ancelloti has won a european cup what im getting at is a guy born and bred in scotland hasn't even managed in scotlands top leauge in is getting the biggest job in scotland

People have underestimate just how few big managers would want the Celtic job. WGS and MON were at best mid table EPL managers with cup finals under their belt too. People think we can do better but I dont even see middling EPL managers hats in the ring this time. We are stepping backwards. We are looking at a 5th placed championship manager with no SPL or EPL experience. No matter how good a start Coyle has made he is untested at the levels that matter. Now, ther eis a tiny chance Coyle is a guy who will always do very well no matter what the level like Alex Feguson but there are very few like that and large numbers who cannot maintain it at a higher level.

I would love Bilic to come to Parkhead, the guy would definitely cut out the rubbish flowing in this Celtic team, but i have a weird feeling that Desmond, Reid, Lawwell nd co would be intimidated by him. I hope I'm wrong though.

 

i'm not underestimateing anything bilic has says he wants the job and looking at the rest of the candidates i think he should get it. thats jist my opinion though

 

Kieran I agree with you mate, Coyle can do no more than the job set in front of him, but thats not my point because I honestly beleive that Billic has watched a much higher class of player purely because his job demanded it . The point about Steven Thompson is that Owen Coyle has to work within a budget and the Thompsons of this world is where he had to deal so no * point or funds trawling europe looking at players he cant afford or doesnt have the resourses to follow up. Like I said before I got no problem with Owen Coyle but if your basing your support for him on the fact he done a good job on limited resourses then what about Jim McInally at the Shire, please explain the difference, good job with no money in a * league.

But the jump between a Jim McInally and an Owen Coyle is bigger than the jump between Coyle and Bilic.

ANd just because Coyle hasn't worked with top class players doesn;t mean he cant spot them. I haven't worked in professional football but i know a good player when i see it.

Im confident Coyle can handle the job here, and can be successful here.

 

this is what we need this is Celtic's class of manager but knowing how the board is i wouldn't be suprised if John Barnes walked out of Celtic Park next week.

I wish they would consider this guy but I fear we're going to get a "celtic minded" type of guy who wont dare to rock DD's boat. I'm pig sick of all the celtic minded names being mentioned it's time for a new approach
