Its not just a small gamble, if it didn't work out we could be without success for years. I don't think a big club should gamble on anyone there is too much to lose.

You could say any manager is a gamble. As long he's not allowed to do a * advocaat on us there no chance of us having no success for years.

No he just won the uefa cup and champions league with Porto, he was relatively inexperienced.

He is the cheapest option so maybe it is possible

He is strong minded so would choose the best option for himelf rather than what the media would normally consider the best option for a manager

But i doubt the board will even look at him now

I'd take him for the following reasons.

    Huge personality
    He has charisma
    He is a great motivator
He would attract some of the best young players in Croatia and elsewhere (* good if their current National team is anything to go by).
They play open attractive attacking football
He has passion, commitment and desire
    He is intelligent
He has kept Croatia, a small country in comparison to most, at the top level of international football (Currently 8th).

This is how much he loves the game
"With the greatest respect to women, football is the most beautiful thing in the world." (Slaven Bilic)

Yes. We'd play a slick possession football, with no more defensive set-pieces crap, and Bilić would rotate formations and players if occasionally things go * up.

    Cheers mate

Yeah thats my opinion a well. He seems very open to learning as a manager from interviews and that which I have heard of him. Hi passion cannot be questioned either - for instance his wages.

I don't want to get too excited though because it is unlikely he will come, but * it would be good if he did

This is almost as embarrassing as the Huns being linked with Messi and Henry when PLG took over.

No chance this will happen now, he's established himself as a top manager. It'll be England or Italy for him IMO.

Mate that has got to be the most exaggerated comparison you've ever made. Seen as you're pretty accurate.

The guy is on like 80 grand a year and has previously admitted he would strongly consider managing here. Those players would never even think of joining the huns, and don't forget Zidane btw lol.

Although i want it though, i seriously doubt it.

for me this is the man to take us forward and if the board are serious about getting the title back they will have to open the biscuit tin and give the man the wages he wants and a transfer bubget worth talking about.

otherwise we could be in bother

Instant excitement, initially would put bums on seats and create a buzz but long term is he the answer? Would he be successful? i have serious doubts.

he has 0 managing experience on club level. I doubt many "bigger" clubs than celtic would take the risk and hire him.

What has he ever done. He's likeable and charismatic but what's on his CV? Getting a talented Coatia team to QF (i think) of Euro 2008? I think most managers would have been capable of that considering the quality of players they have.

Don't get me wrong, he may turn out to be a good manger. I just feel it's extremely high risk. Not sure if he'd be in it for long haul either. Overall, I think there are better candidates.

    See my earlier post.

Also, Croatia are a small country, yes they have talented players but as has been seen on many occasions previously, mere talent wins you * all - you need the right type of character to steer the ship. Look at England for example.
