For people my age, Andy Goram has to be in the conversation. He fits both criteria: he was a very good goalkeeper but not world class; yet he seemed to turn into Lev Yashin against us.

Brian Laudrup as the second best Laudrup. Did Michael ever play at Celtic Park?

    Thiago Motta for PSG.

    Onyedika for Brugge last year.

    Matuzalem for Shakhtar.

Bit of an odd one but Laryea Kingston was class any time we played Hearts.

Does anyone know who the actual answer would be statistically? I’m assuming it would be a player domestically

Rabiot , every touch of the ball was insane all night . Was three moves ahead of our midfield , one and two touch , couldn't get near him.

    Special mention to Cavani aswell.

I always remember Red Bull Salzburg being insanely good against us one season , like passed us off the park to a ridiculous level I couldn't believe how good they were . Marco Rose was manager I believe. Similar to Borussia Munchungladbach or Wolfsburg? In the UCL a few years back couldn't get the ball.....

If we are throwing a hun in for good measure that little * Naismith was a thorn in our side 2010-2012 era , same as Jelavic and Aluko the odd time, although mainly at their dump.

Under Ange when we lost 2-0 to Leipzig. Xaver Schlager completely controlled the tempo of the whole game that night.

Prosinecki ran the show for Zagreb at Parkhead. Still don't know how we won on the night. Also hit the bar with a free kick late on.

David trezeguet came on at halftime in the game we beat juventus 4-3 and I'd never seen a forward move the way he did. Incredible footballer.

Random one but there was a guy called Alejandro dominguez played against us for Valencia I think, and he was * unreal, class player. Must have been 2009 or 2010 or something.

I know pirlo is a world class elite player but my * when we played them and he was like 36-37 I think at this stage, he was unplayable. Anytime someone would try press him his first touch would be a lofted 30 yard pass to a teammates foot, right foot left foot it didn’t matter. His pace was Gone but his awareness first touch and half turns were soo good nobody could get near him. Was shocked how good he was at that stage of his career.

    Honourable mention: Patrick Twumasi :BR1:

Griezzman for Atletico, had never really seen much of him before until seeing him play in person but his movement & touch was unreal, so much quality.

Mahrez was another one when he was still at Leicester for a pre-season friendly, just breezed past players like they weren’t there.

I'd say Riquelme as well, the Villarreal game at Celtic Park was the first time I ever felt we were outplayed at a game of football at home and he conducted the whole game. Even though we drew 1-1 I think I felt they absolutley destroyed us with him doing everything.

The other is Xavi, I think they first time he played at Celtic Park also probably 2004, where the way he turned about on the ball was very noticable and stood out like you'd not seen that before. I remember him just walking about evading everyone passing and moving and being untouchable.

Would also agree with Messi and Neymar but more expected and other players but would still say the most shocking were Riquelme and Xavi.
