I depends what atmosphere you like. I like a noisy one with lots of singing but there will be plenty of people who hate that and would rather a quieter one.

At our peak we are the best, no doubt about it.

We used to have until the anti Irish element in our fans appeared. Funnily enough co incidentally with the ermergance of Twitter for them to hide behind.

I think too many of our fans believe our own hype. Atmosphere was decent when the Green Brigade were there but now that they're gone, it's like a ghost-town. Champions League nights are a major improvement but even those this season weren't what they usually are. It depends how you define what the best fans in the world do that others don't but I don't think we are the best fans in the world.

I can't really blame people for not wanting to go the games. When there's more important things that money has to be spent on such as feeding the family, paying the bills, then football may take a backseat. The prices we pay for season tickets and the prices people for single tickets should reflect what we see on the pitch and quite frankly it is hugely out of proportion. The crowds will only come back if the football improves and/or the prices of tickets are dropped.

    No mate.

Was trying to fit it in with my point on those running the game being so far detached from fan culture, that's how they see it.

You'd think so but as you can see on twitter and on here from time to time there are such people.

Many players have been swayed to come to Celtic because of the fans and the atmosphere generated at Paradise in the big games is amazing and jaw dropping, domestic games there would always be a good few games so the atmosphere picks up. No longer can Celtic use the fans as a bargaining chip like champions league football because of Peter Lawell and co, soon and very soon they will realize this then start scratching their heads wondering why, they could ruin the club if things don't get changed.

Spot on. We aren't some mega rich 'brand' that can toy about with the fans - Celtic NEEDS the fans.

I don't think any clubs fans can claim to be ''the best fans in the world''. I don't like it when new signings come in and say that.

If you look at the lengths some of the ultras of Eastern European clubs go to, even if you disagree with some of the stuff they do, you have to really laugh at the best fans in the world tag when applied to clubs here. What I would say is that Celtic, for such a huge club, has a great core support.

People are seriously deluded if they buy into this *. We have an excellent big game support and a cracking away support. Run of the mill home support is up there with the worst in these islands. Ffs even the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea get the odd (albeit *) chant going every second week.

This is what I was thinking. A CL night an Istanbul is probably the best atmosphere there is in top flight European football.

I agree with all of you, with a sad feeling.

for this season by far I went 7 games. I think the atmosphere of Milan and Aberdeen game is superb, Motherwell game is ok, and the rest 4 is totally rubbish.

my mate invite his friends to new year derby and try to preach Celtic to them. I feel embarrased and sorry for them. they sat in freezing wind and watch that *, and away fans outsinging our home fans.I even apologized and told them that the old firm derby is not like this *(at one point they thought partick is the huns, how pathetic if that were true).

i have classmates are ManU and Arsenal fans trying to have interest in Celts. I simply beg them not to come until the next Euro night !!

Not the best in terms of noise in the average game.

But how many other clubs would sell 45,000 tickets a game at prices of £22+ to see Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Ross County and Hibs. And Sell £16million worth of merchandise a year.

In terms of money and still sticking by whilst getting the * taken out of us we must be up there.

You wonder what we'd be like if we were in the Bundesliga with better players and paying £10 less a game.

Someone mentioning Lazio, Lazio only get 29,000 a game, pay less than us, have better players than us, play better teams than us and their city is something like 10x the size of ours.

When I was wee I used to think we topped anyone but things have changed dramatically over the years. Take a look at recent events for example and you'll see how pathetic it's became.
