Sorry, been round Europe many times ground hopping and that's *.

The Bundesliga & 2nd division * over anything Celtic Park has produced in recent years.

Try Hansa-St Pauli for a derby..:icon_mrgreen: makes the old games vs the zombies look sterile.

Even the anti-fan measures of Tessara del Tifosi in Italy, still much better than CP. Seen personally Viola/As Roma/Napoli/Livorno/Hellas Verona/Lazio to suggest were on a par with them domestically is nonsense.

I don't buy it - sorry. The 'smaller' footballing nations such as Poland, Serbia and what not have raucous fans and the Turks create some atmosphere.

However, this myth that its absolutely buzzing in all German football matches is just that, a myth - you only have to watch their matches - better than ours and England obviously - but highly overrated. Watch a Dortmund match, apart from the standing section, everyone is sitting on their arses taking part in the modern 'prawn-sandwich' charade, none of them singing.

Fact is, the atmosphere has gotten worse, fact is, some of it stems from a self creation (the board). However most clubs are the same, its a symptom of modern football. Plus, from what I've read on here, nostalgia plays tricks with the mind - even the Old Celtic Park and the infamous Jungle had its drab times....

Germany fair enough but I'd much rather the sterile, 'meh' atmosphere of a Strachan era/now Celtic Park than a hateful atmosphere like Lazio and Hellas frankly.

There is a good reason Celtic are constantly lauded for our atmosphere and Lazio aren't.

If Arsenal at the Emirates is called the library. Our ground could soon be known as the morgue!

Yes whilst Lazio are a lowlife excuse for a club and fan. At least they have passion. More than we have. Our fans are being diluted. Much like PSG were a few seasons ago. Due to corporate pressure!

Poland costs basically a £2/3 for a ticket. Lech Poznan - Legia (the biggest game in Poland) is £9 for a man/ £8 for a women.

Dortmund is overrated. Wouldn't say that it isn't blown slightly out of proportion but the comparison was made that we are on a par with that. We aren't. It also depends on the club, and the fan culture at that club. Suppose it isn't hard, when there is basically no fan culture left in the UK.

Derbies over there are a million times better.

Indeed the Jungle had it drap times, along with our club having * attendances. 8 -10,000 on several occasions during the 80s.

    * *, I didn't think the games were that cheap in Poland. :smiley-laughing002: The Polish games though have superb atmosphere, South American fans are unreal aswell.

I often wonder why the fan culture has died so much in Britain.

Celtic fans have passion as well, we don't have the same nutjob element as Lazio and the like have and I kinda like it that way.

The atmosphere in the last month isn't any worse than the atmosphere in Strachan's tenure, only difference is the attendances were higher back then.

Best fans in the world? Load of mythological bullshit.

You just need to look at the way a large sect of the support turned against a certain group within the support at the behest of the board recently.

It's really not. In Brazil the average attendance hovers around the 12,000 mark in the first division and 5000 in the second, in huge bowls making for poor atmospheres. Argentina is a bit better, up at the 20,000 mark. Everywhere else in under 10,000.

Away from the big clubs or clubs on a good run atmospheres are poor. Money and security issues playing a major part in that.

When discussing the "best fans in the world" I think people forget that the numbers going is just as important as the noise created by those that go. Red Star Belgrade have poor attendance figures overall but those that go are fanatical. You have to try and find a balance of the two, instead of just having the traditional stand partly full and singing, accompanied by thousands of empty seats.

Well its brilliant over there, if not rather crazy. But Hey! Crazy is a good thing :icon_mrgreen:

Think its due to a multitude of reasons - Many being priced out etc. Those running the game are so removed from any form of fan culture, they simply don't understand it. You can see that over the Zombie fiasco, with the SFA trying every trick in the book to get them back in the SPL & couldn't understand why fans were against it.

Maybe im thinking of Argentina then but to be fair I have watched Brazilian matches and the atmosphere is quite good most of the time - considering some of the quality on display (can be poor).

At least its not deadly silence, like the Emirates.

You make some very valid points in your statement Celticbhoy, a lot I agree with, but then you * things on their head, by going on to attack senior people within Celtic F.C. Celtic fans are well known, and respected throughout the fitba world, and rightly so.
I've stated on this site, time & time again, that I have watched, supported, & followed Celtic for over 50 years now, and I'm proud to tell the world. I've watched Celtic through loadsa dark times, but I still stood and watched my team with great feckin pride. I didn't want an all-seater statium, I still wanted to stand in the "Jungle" and sing my Rebel songs, but I wasnt allowed to. I was then "forced" to get a season ticket for the Lisbon Lions upper stand. I wasn't a feckin happy chappie, but you know what ? I still supported my team, and still do, from a seat in the upper Jungle now. What I'm trying to say here is, if the law, or the owner stipulates change, while we can protest as individuals, if we break that law or rule, again as individuals, we then have to uphold its consequences, no matter how much we agree or disagree with that law, or rule. If anyone has to be respected in argument, then you have to present a credible argument to hit home your point. No one wins an argument on nasty name calling, you win by credible argument. I am going to stick my neck out here and say, that its a minority of our fans, who have an agenda with Peter Lawwell, and the Board. Please dont put it to the test, with the rest of the Celtic support, please dont. I have applauded the Green Brigade, and want them back together inside Parkhead, leading our "choir". We are the Glasgow Celtic, we are proud of our Club, our team, our fans, and our history............... that alone deserves respect amongst us all :ynwacelti

At least the Emirates sells out every week, with fans paying some stupid prices - but of course they are silent and boring.

Sadly right now we have neither a full stadium or the loud support of a small part of the stadium. Stuck in a kind of crap middle ground right now.

Best fans in the world. Over a grand for a season ticket and they still sell out.

Perhaps slightly worrying but as has been shown with modern football now, that's how its seen by those running the game.

Arsenal get better attendances than we do, if we had as many people in parkhead as they get in the emirates, the atmosphere would be a lot better.

Arsenal also play in a city that's got more people in it than Scotland.

I don't understand, are you saying they are the best fans in the world because they pay a £1k for their season tickets?

Thats easy enough though when the team is based in a city with a population of, what, 11 million?

They also play in the EPL and have a higher standard of player. If Celtic had all of that, im certain we would sell-out, every week and be some of the most raucous fans about.
