    For an older generation it would probably be Ronnie Simpson.


    In recent years it would have to be Boruc, at his best he's a world class GK, and he's proving that right now with his performances in the EPL.

    i think you are being a bit harsh on rab douglas . watch the road to seville dvd the big man kept us in it on at least 5 occasions .
    i have been watching the bhoys since early sixties and the best was packie :celt_2: i wish i had seen john thomson . apart from about 30 seconds film.

    Best keeper ever.
    I was about nine or ten when he got hurt and john Fallon filled in for him.
    I disliked Fallon because no one could replace Simpson. (pretty unfair of me looking back)
    Simpson was the man, it felt like we couldn't lose when he was in net.
    Loved Boruc,
    Love forster,
    and I think Rab Douglas gets a bad rap.

    I met him up at Lennoxtown. Brilliant guy & a real unsung hero. I think he was the first player on the losing side in a European Cup final to win man of the match.

    Pretty surprised that John Thomson has only been mentioned once in here (as far as I could tell). A real legend in Celtic history, even if he was obviously a wee bit before my time (or anyone here most likely). Definitely worth commemorating the 'Prince of Goalkeepers'.

    As for the 'modern era', it has to be Boruc - what a character and a tremendous keeper as well. Forster isn't far behind - his Barca performances were hopefully the start of a legendary career.
