FFS @Sean Daleer when did you grow up?

This being sensible is * disappointing. Get a grip.

    Why is that a concern?

I thought he looked a little shaky once or twice against us last season but before that I thought he was a decent keeper. I’m just delighted Bain is no longer our number 2. Welcome Benji.

Brilliant signing. Siegrest is too good to be a 2nd choice so to get him in as back up to hart is fantastic. Think we r sorted innkeeper dept for the next half a dozen years

Good signing this. Guy can make a save, if we can develop his overall game he’ll be top level.

Being honest when the huns gave McGregor an extension earlier I was hoping we'd ditch this deal and wait to see if someone who could give Hart more of challenge popped up later in the window. Muric or J.Martinez on a loan to buy would've been ideal.

Just seems a bit of a lazy signing although tbf that's coming from someone who thought Barkas would be great and didn't want Hart so erm. :84:

Certainly feel more comfortable with him as back up than Bain, if Hart were to pick up an injury. Remember the fear last season when he took a knock.

Clearly he has been brought in as cover but I certainly don't think aiming to claim a first team place is beyond him tbh. Granted I am mainly going off his efforts against us mind.

Absolutely fine keeper to have as backup, with small hope he can step it up to take over.
I'm not convinced he is able to get to the level of Hart, Forster, Boruc, but as backup with the slight chance he can still improve - worthy signing.

I do need to ask though, what was the point in the extension to Bain contract then? Purely because now it would seem that our only young keeper left at the club with any reasonable expectation (Tobi) is now 4th choice and practically never gonna see game time here (in the near future), seems pointless in that respect.

I imagine Bain is kept on because of his nationality and fits a quota, but does seem a bit overkill with keepers we have now.

Anyway, not the point as such, but he seems a good keeper, a step above Bain for sure and probably (at first look) the best backup keeper we will have had in the last 15-20 years, so very chuffed.

Tobi has only just turned 19, he probably needs 2 years of loans by which point Bain and Hart are gone.

He's an excellent keeper, and too good to be a number 2 in my opinion.

    We're lucky to have him.

I think this is an excellent bit of business and a bit surprised how many are thinking differently. Solid keeper on a free.

I'd argue you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who'd be happy-ish to accept playing second fiddle to Hart at any level above Siegrist and nor would Hart want to accept having to be demoted so soon after giving us a fantastic debut season, should we have gone out and I don't know....say spent big bucks on Forster (just throwing a random name out)

Perfect back up signing in every sense is Siegrist. Fantastic bit of business.
