Totally agree mate.lenny and Bellamy have prob spoke where Bellamy has said I will come if man city don't cave in and let me go to Cardiff which Lenny will totally understand.Celtic and man city will prob have already agreed on a deal but Bellamy is digging in hoping they just let him go to Cardiff to get him out of there sights.which is prob fair enough

It's not so much as a back up more like a second choice.there's nothing wrong with that.we have had plenty of players sitting waiting ready to sign fir us if we fail with our main target it's a way of football

We have seen in the last week with injuries to Kayal and Izzy that a quality squad is going to be vital this season.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has admitted the club are still hopeful of signing Craig Bellamy on loan.
The 32-year-old Wales striker is not part of Roberto Mancini's plans at Manchester City and is looking for first-team football, but would have to take a wage cut to seal a return to Celtic Park.
Lawwell said: "I know Neil would love to have him (Bellamy) at the club - we all would - but we cannot pay salaries of £70,000-£80,000. It's that simple and I think our fans understand that.
"Having said that, if Craig were to take a view that he wants to play football at a huge club where he enjoyed himself in the past, and he was willing to take a pay cut then, who knows?
"Manchester City would also have to take a view that it would be in their interests to pay a portion of his wages as well."
Bellamy played for the Hoops 12 times in 2005 during a loan spell from Newcastle - scoring seven goals.

I don't think anyone in Celtic said we were going to get a chance to sign long. It was clear after last season with Reading that his price tag would be more than £6m, which sadly is out of our price range.
Hope we get Bellamy, great player will score 20+ for us in a season no problem imo

Well in that case you'll likely end up with a squad of players who are not good enough to have had any interest from better leagues.

Time for me to flaunt my ignorance here, but is Cardiff not in a valley?

Or is it just not one of the valleys...

    Aye the Clyde Valley!

But Cardiff is down beside the valleys, so if it's in a valley, why is it not in the valleys? Likes...:56:

Good wee geography lesson going on eh?

I would take Santa Cruz over Bellamy too, but chances are we will end up with neither.
