Bobo was offered the same money by Sunderland that he is on now.Mebbe him and his family are happy in Glasgow and he is fully entitled to see out the contract he was give.Usual nonsense from some people on here moan when a player doesn't see out his contract,moan when he does.At the time he signed that contract most of us were happy as we thought he was heading off to Bayern for nowt.

Imagine your boss came to you and said they had a new job for you miles away,and you would have to uproot your family because it doesn't suit him to have you around and he wants to save a few shekls..You would tell him to go off and * himself.

 

Its OK criticising Oneil but going back to 2003 time he would have come under attack for not tieing Baldi into a meaningful contract. Its just one of those things he has outlived his purpose and should move on. Maybe he didnt want to go to Sunderland because he was unimpressed with what he saw of Roy Keene here in the 05/06 season. That guy can be a meglamaniac which is not to everybodys liking!

I can understand him, that would be the coolest job ever, getting his wages and don't even need to play. well there's something better, being a 3rd keeper at a big club.

just kidding, apparently a few german and other clubs were interested in him but then noticed his wages and didn't even make a bid for him.

You can't blame a player for taking the wages that a club gave him. Blame the judgement of a manager for giving an average centre half superstar wages.

Bobo is entitled to the money. I've got to echo Graham's point about trying to compare it with the wages for soldiers. * daft comparison.

He probably thinks he can still get a decent club after his Celtic contract expires and by that time he'll be set for life anyway. I'd rather he left and freed up the money for someone else, but I'm not going to slaughter him for it.

There have been various attempts, to lend Bobo out or get him a transfer, but he's said no to each offer, and stated himself that he's never walked out on any contract before it ended. So how can we complain about players who want to negotiate a better-paying contract with a club, or want to get out of a signed contract to move to another club, and then also complain when Bobo does exactly the opposite and sticks to his signed contract? No-one forced Celtic to offer him 32K a week for 3 years, remember.

Guy has given 100% every time he played.He hasn't gone running to papers about not getting a game or someone trying to force him out.In his last game for the club he broke his leg and he was good enough then to get a game,not his fault he's slipped down the pecking order..

Gas actually to see that so many of the people who were getting themselves all worked up about Smith walking out on Scotland are in this thread calling Bobo names for not doing that..

 

Ok i'll clear a few things up here.

Yes, he's signed a 5 year contract and wants to see it out,quite right. He is now the highest earner at CP.
What's annoying to me is that he does not figure in WGS plans,at all. He's never been on the bench this season,yet he has the chance to go and play 1st team and rejects it. A few people on here deem this as loyalty to the club he 'loves'. What utter tosh.
He tried to hawk himself round Europe a couple of seasons ago,a few were interested but all baulked at his wage package. What a way to endear yourself to the club you 'love'!

Why guys like him get defended and others such as Hartley and Pressley get slaughtered beats me.

That's cos of his massive salary!! He was only playing then due to injuries to McManus(if memory serves me). We then took on Pressley who dug us out of a hole.

He's a waste of space but he's a waste of space becuase of the previous regimes huge contract offer. We have to live with that. If he had any inclines of playing he'd have done what thompson did,he doesn't.

And that's not true about clubs baulking at his wage packet either.Newcastle offered him a huge deal he said no and then they signed Boumsong..Anyways he was perfectly entitled to "hawk"himself around Europe as he was at the end of his previous contract.

Balde is passed it and wanting him on a field is a big liability. Not going to the EPL and Sunderland is beyond a joke to me and I lost all respect for him for that. All.

He's not been first choice for 2 seasons now,if he harboured any ambition to play he could have signed for other clubs, instead he sits doing hee haw for 30k. IF he ws a low earner he would be off but he's not he's the highest so here he stays.

He was under contract when we played DU in the Scottish Cup Final when at the end he ran round the stadium,himself,collecting scarfs etc waving his 'goodbye'. A few clubs interested but not on his wage structure so back he comes for pre season, 'loyal' guy that he is.

Fair play to the man hes not stupid he knows he can sit on his * and pocket 32,000 grand a week .

In terms of the football club he should of left he knows his time is up Strachan obviosuly dosent want him and why he wouldnt wan to play in the EPL and proabably get more first team action than he will here i'll never know.

WGS doesn't want him if he had any abition he'd have moved on, i don't buy that he wants to fight his way into wgs plans, doesn't he know what a stubborn * wgs is? Can't say i'd do anything different if i was BoBo and a non Celtic fan!

Aye i read summat similar altho i read for much lower wages and whilst i can understand your point i think he's well within his rights to stay.Not ideal granted but i don't think that Balde deserves to be called a leech or parasite for wanting to honour his contract.Strachan is also on record this window saying he didn't want anyone moved on.

Truth of the matter is we didn't get another defender in or offered him a contract in time so we went into a panic and he was offered an obviously too large contract which he took.Would any of us have walked away from that kinda money?
