I like the idea of it, another benefit it would bring is coaching and managerial staff as they would also have a great stage on which to earn there colours.

for a team to get promoted another one (like Gretna did) has to go bust. So normally the team who are getting promoted go to divison three and one of the teams who got relegated from the second div. get to stay there

I think this would be a great idea. It would be another attraction for younger players as to why you should come to Celtic as you would have this chance to compete in real games while trying to force your way into the first team reckoning plus obviously our own coaches can then keep a much closer eye on the progress of younger players coming through. No need either then to loan out young players we can keep them in house.

I think it would be awful for Scotland.

Within a few years you could well see Celtic B and Rangers B (if they had enough players) completely dominate the first division each year. It would make what is a very competitive league into another one dominated by us (which long term isnt a good thing) and turn promotion into a bit of a farce when the 3rd best team gets promoted each year.

From a player development perspective, I think our B players would be better served being loaned out to current SPL sides and lower level English clubs. They will get more experience doing that than just pumping every team every week in the lower scottish divisions.

I think it would help the players drastically. Are they going to learn more playing at Celtic with their team mates, with our coaches and playing competitive football with more experienced players or playing in a random team in the spl, playing defensive football with poor facilities?

The players that dont make the first team for us would be let go and some of them would go to other teams in scotland, making the other teams stronger with the experience they would now have of real first team football.

As i said before, i think if it works in spain it can work in scotland.

It works in Spain because there is enough depth in their divisions to handle it. Real, Barca, Athletico, Celta Vigo, Getafe, etc, all have B teams and the leagues have 20 teams. Typically these clubs do not win the leagues.

What would happen is that only Celtic and Rangers would have B teams and Celtic B would just win the first division every single year (along side rangers). It would simply kill the league. I just dont think it is fair on the clubs playing in the first division, and for this really it will never happen.

Maybe limit the B-Teams to fielding Under-23 players only?
And if a B Team can dominate Scotland's 2nd tier football then maybe the other clubs should take a look at themselves. Not blame the OF.

Oh hang on..... they do that in the top tier already. As if it's our fault they have no money, fans who won't go to games and * stadiums.

Read an article about the Possibility of that. :50:

Something like the B team play non-league football until they make it to the English professional leagues. Once they do that we swap the playing staff and management team over, so the former B team becomes the A team playing English football and the A teams becomes the B team playing SPL football.

Sounds good in theory but don't know if it would actually be possible..
