The referee was atrocious. Constantly allowed our players to be barged off the ball. I sometimes think as a team we are too passive with the * refereeing. No doubt a consequence of enduring the cheating * from the sfa week in and week out. Would be nice to see the team get up and in their faces and put a bit of pressure on them like fergies Man Utd used to.

    And wee Montgomery?
Was worried about an injury to taylor....even though I would have loved another left back.
But Monty seems like he could really excel

That was a tough game,AZ are a great team and prepared well for it.We defended well apart from the 2 goals. As soon as I seen Starfelt going for the kick instead of controlling the ball which he had time to do I knew it was going to end bad.Montgomery done well when he came considering the pressure the lad must’ve under.Need another CB as not sure what role Scales is going to play.

Media is a * torrid. Rangers ease through but we make hard work of it.

People can say what they want but the second Kyogo scored the tie was dead, AZ was never getting 4 past us.

Would have taken the result before the game. A lot of the way it panned out I was expecting. We are going to be a hard watch defensively. In the end though the young guys defended superbly 2nd half. Ralston and Welsh headed everything and put their bodies on the line. Montgomery is so obviously an upgrade on Taylor as well. At half time it looked bleak but we showed a bit of grit 2nd half. Well done.

I doubt they would, you have Spurs, Roma and Union Berlin already there. They should * the groups but then 8 teams from EL drop down. If they couldn't get past us, then I don't think they can win it.

Their RB wasn't too bad but even the chances he got were being sliced and going wide, for all the chances they had, they lacked that finishing instinct

Yeah, I said they were never going to score 4 past us, after Kyogo scored the opener the tie was dead. I didn't see how AZ were going to get 4 past us.

For all their efforts they lacked the ability.

The tie was far from dead, as evidenced by them going 2-1 up pretty quick. If they had made it 3-1 it was game over for us imo. 70 minutes we were on the cusp of being big underdogs to go through.

I read somewhere that teams with CL ambition don't want to win the conference league as winning that secures a place in next seasons europa league and not the CL. I could be wrong but you can maybe expect the likes of Roma and spurs to field weakened teams

That was a stressful experience, as expected. It wouldn’t be Celtic away in Europe without the usual calamitous defensive mistakes. To be fair to Hart, Welsh and Starfelt, they did recover for the most part when it would be have been easy to let it get to them.

They’re a good team. Physical, technically sound, good energy levels with a few quality players. We rode our luck at times but that was to be expected. Early goal was crucial. Introduction of Eddy for Rogic was turning point for us. Having that focal point when under the cosh helped massively.

We are in the draw and that’s all that matters. Roll on Sunday.
