You’ve got to think that would of been on his mind during this recent dip in form.

Anyone who says otherwise just doesn’t understand.

    He will be buzzing now.

There is honestly no better feeling than welcoming your little one into the world.

Trusty is another one I think we will be looking to offload in the summer, he's not been anywhere near worth the £6M outlay we paid for him, and I think Rodgers is seeing that now.

He's erratic, doesn't pick his man up, can't tackle, and lacks any physicality for a 6'3' centre back. He is poor in the air and routinely loses challenges/headers. Also his left foot is terrible. He can't pass and technically he is very poor.

A £6M defender ideally should have some strengths.Trusty doesn't have any.

Hes shown enough in big European games that he can step up. New kid etc your going to be a bit all over the place. I'd keep him. Let them build on a partnership.

Be surprised if we sell him, unless we bring someone else in. And Im not sure we will. With a 6mil outlay I think we will be reluctant to throw the towel in on him after a season.

Unless theres commitment from Rodgers to stay beyond next season it could turn into a muted Summer of transfer activity. If he commits to a longer deal then it could open up more business.

Havent made my mind up on Trusty. He looked good at the start and had some big games. Then post the OF cup final hes been patchy. But we have had a whole bunch of players that have been inconsistent since that game so Im not sure if its an individual thing or a general malaise in the squad overall.

I don’t think he will go but if he did I think we would at least get our money back.

He did well in the champions league by and large particularly against Atalanta and Munich. I think a team in Bundesliga would be interested in him. Big Jenz went there and is doing fine and I actually think Trusty is quite similar to Jenz in his playing size.

If Hugh Keevins thinks you're a waste of money, you've probably done OK.

No a good look for him is it..

Had some top games for me and looked class at times but then looked a total bombscare at others..

    Getting hooked at half times
    Dropped for big games after
Then ill and missed a chunk
Then back in and been bombed out again for Scales

For a 6 mill signing it screams the manager doesn't trust him..

Aye it's a weird one, guys been incredible in Europe but pretty average in the league.

I'd be fine with him as our third choice CB, with us moving Scales and Nawrocki on, but it might be that Rodgers trusts Scales more, as that's a few times he's been dropped for him.

Aye I still personally prefer Trusty. His performances in Europe, backs to the wall where his pace and presence have been what we've needed....but youre right. Scales in would point towards Rodgers preferring him, which begs the question, is our 6 mill man 3rd choice and the one who's potentially for the chop..

I would've liked Scales out. Trusty rotated with another left centre half who's more dominant than both and a ball player. Nawrocki out and someone else to compete with Carter-Vickers..

    Unlikely though..

Just cant see a future for him here with his limitations on the ball, given how much of the ball our CH's have. Would be looking to move him on and likely have to take a hit on him.
BR really does have a poor record with signing CH's for us.

In Europe the stand out game for him usually mentioned is Atalanta, and he was brilliant.

it’s also a game Scales played in. And got Man of the Match in.

    * must be tired of reading me saying the same thing, Scales has the most MotM awards in the CL proper ever for us. Slovan being the only weaker team but he got that for his attacking play. Atletico Madrid and Atalanta was for great defensive play.

I don’t get how we are so reluctant to recognise the level he can play to. I genuinely think the anger at our signing policy, him being a cheap guy from Desmonds other team, and taking 2 seasons and a loan to develop into good enough for us * made up their mind he’s not good enough and don’t want to be wrong that they did.

It will go around in circles a bit between Trusty and Scales because over the long run - neither are convincing enough. So neither have been able to nail down a starting spot.

Scales played well yesterday - so he will probably hold the jersey a while but you always get the feeling hes got a howler in him and theres a shocker of performance around the corner somewhere. Then there will calls for Trusty to come back in again.

Both have put in good performances int he past, including in Europe, but they have also had some really bad ones. Overall its definitely a position we can upgrade in I feel.

Trusty was also excellent both games against Bayern and Leipzig, and done alright away to Villa, so when I say Europe, I'm not citing the one game.

He'll be gone in the summer, along with Kuhn and Hatate.

He's never going to cut it as a Celtic class centre back.

Both at their best, Trusty is the better player. The issue is consistency and that’s something that can in cases be more important than talent.

MOTM awards mean relatively * all. It’s subjective and more times than not are given to the wrong player, not a good way to measure who the better player is.

CB is easily the most heavily scrutinised position in a team Celtic over the years. We demand near perfection every single game and when we have the likes of Van Dijk and CCV proving the standard is achievable, anything less is considered not enough and we want to move on. We’ve seen it with players constantly.

I think both are good, but Trusty edges it for me at his best. Giving him the benefit of the doubt recently due to him being a Dad etc, we forget these people have real lives and things affect everyone in different ways. I think he will be flying next season. I’d absolutely keep Scales and I’d be happy with him being 3rd choice, because you pretty much know what you’re getting.

For me Trusty is the better all round defender, Scales is better at progressing the play..
