Underwhelming. I thought he was shocking for Sheff Utd last year every time I saw him.

Typical Celtic though - moving on from someone like O’Shea to * Trusty.

If we sign him, I’m predicting Scales back in the team by Christmas

4th choice cb from a * sheff utd team? No thanks. Assuming we are signing someone to be a starter I would want us aiming much higher.

    So not so trusty.

The only thing we can trust here is the board will go for the cheap option.

I never listen to fans of EPL clubs or ones relegated. Usually pretty delusional in expectations or where they're at..

Carter-Vickers had the same talk. Was slaughtered for his limited game time in likes of the Europa against minnows. Performed well in most of his loans in the championship, same as Trusty at Birmingham..

Scott Sinclair was roasted when Villa got relegated. Was a sensation for us instantly..

I wouldn't listen too much to their fan opinion BUT I do feel like we could do better here, on the face of it.

I agree to an extent. Always have fans talking nonsense etc but I haven’t seen any single positive comment about him:giggle1:

    Think it’s a bit underwhelming.

Dara O’Shea also got relegated but seems very highly rated and has loads of teams after him. Think to go from him to Trusty is a big step down.

Aye I'm only going on the Birmingham loan and his reel he does look to have attributes that would suit us but I've no idea how good he is..

Definitely no arguments about O'Shea but 15 mill is just never gonna happen..

They want 15m for Oshea but he's clearly the better player. I'd imagine we could get that down. I mean they're literally in discussions with us as we speak over Johnston.

Trusty will probably be £5-6m himself. I'd rather spend another 6m or so to push towards what Burnley want.

Trusty will also be on a decent wedge himself. So again, I'd rather spend another 15-20k a week on O'Shea.

It again reeks a bit of penny pinching snd going for the cheaper, riskier option.

If it can be done with Johnston as a make way, then I'm all for it..

The fact there's been zero talk about that sort of deal, when Mikey's in talks and we want O'Shea, leads me to believe we're never getting them..

    Oh aye I definitely agree.

Don't get me wrong we are never gonna get O'Shea but that's how I'd approach it. Unlike @Peter T. Lawwell Esq

Initially I thought this was *, but I’m warming to the idea after reading about him before Sheffield United.

In the same way that I’m quite keen on Wijndal despite Ajax fans calling him a bombscare.

If he's decent like apparently his spell before SU, then he could do a turn.
CCV had hit and miss spells before coming to us, specially in those lesser sides down south.

    I'm not against it.

But it's not the proven sort we desperately need. If he comes in, it's a position we will need to have our fingers crossed for.

Ticks boxes for being left sided and able to fill in at left back.
I'd worry it was a one player for two position effort from us though.

As others have said, still need to shift the dead wood and trim the CB group down.

Sounds like an American welterweight prospect.

Plays football like one as well by all accounts.

I Remember we were loosely linked with that Clarke-Slater from QPR. Is he still there?

I would much rather spend 5-6 mill on someone like him, coming off the back of a good season.
