Had a great game today.

 

Huge difference this has been. To both their games. You can tell he's enjoying it as well.

 

One goes, the other sits. It’s such a good balance. Also allows them to take a break and let the other push.

 

Thought he was immense in the middle..

 

Definitely has the ability for me. I think it’s a mentality thing for me. Someone like MON do wonders for him

 

He’s got the ability, bit more confidence about him and he’ll be flying.

 

Outstanding today.

 

A proper derby performance , covered every blade and was physical and bullish . He still needs to tidy up the final moments , but his athleticism is up there with the best.

 

Thought he was brilliant. Tremendous energy levels and midfield looks far stronger with him playing deeper next to Cal

 

He’s looking sharper every game, just tell him to put the same ball in from corners every-time don’t worry about going back post.

 

Without being spectacular, his best game in many months today.

His passing and set pieces were much better today. Played with more fire in his belly as well. I think he can be the guy to step up this season and will continue to improve getting regular starts.

 

I'm still not seeing it with him. He's playing better than he has been, but that's almost saying nothing.

I think he has major flaws that can't be coached out of him. Just want us to sign a better midfielder and take our losses on him.

 

Think it’s very clear the player we signed based off of performances in a double pivot midfield is far more comfortable playing as a midfielder in a double pivot instead of the sort of half wing support 8 we’ve deployed mainly since Ange.

 

He covered every blade of grass today well done

 

Just shows change of formation and he looks a great player.

Still a long way to go to say he’s worth 11 million that we spent, but today is a start to that.

 

It's funny how when you play someone to their strengths they actually look decent, rather than trying to make them into something they aren't to suit a system.

 

Chuffed for the big man, hope he kicks on now.

 

Said this recently myself, Rodgers trying to turn him into a goal scoring midfielder was lunacy. So obvious that he's a big talent if used correctly.
