Lennon done so well in his first year because he inherited Mowbary's diddies, got rid of the expendables and brought in his own guys, yet he misses out on the treble by a glove and the inside of a post?

The hard work was done last summer and in January with the arrival of Commons.

    Now we build.

Wanyama (brute of a guy that will probably play the 'Lennon' role) offers us something different to Kayal (dogged but great vision and passing) Ledley (Consistant performer and sorely missed when not playing, great left foot and reading of the game) and Ki (exceptional passer and can dictate play from a defensive midfield position).

Wilson is probably up there with Maj, Mulgrew and Loovens (don't laugh) in terms of current ability as a CB.

Mathews is a regular international and has plenty of time to break into the first team. M.Wilson was not always 100% fit so Mathews is a great alternative. Although from what I have seen Mathews needs to concentrate more in games as he often plays attackers on side when he should be stepping up with the CB's.

If Sammi or Murphy step up to the plate and we get Pteloski, I'm a happy hoopy.

I think the 3 of them done well , matthews looks like a great prospect.

All we need is a striker and a GK then were set i think.

If they keep signing the quality of players that they have up til now I dont think we should be unduly worried

I wonder if the money we earn from the dublin super cup will go towards transfers.....
I think next january we will see an exodus of players (dead wood) from paradise, well that is what I hope anyway.

We're not getting left behind but what i feel is that Lennon isn't interested in signing any Scottish players like Rangers are these days

No quality in Scottish Signings unless we somehow manage to land Darren Fletcher.

No thanks, i'd much rather sign Steven Fletcher than Darren Fletcher!

Infact, i'd rather sign Dexter Fletcher before Darren :icon_mrgreen:

Having seen much evidence of that so far, guy just doesn't do enough for me. Our strongest MID is Brown, Ledley, Kayal & Commons & hopefully Wanyama can do a job as well.

Say what you like Darren Fletcher is an absolute quality player. Closest thing to World Class in Scotland just now.

Which is a poor show really.

I'm sure we have by recent reports 3 player on trial just heard we've had a bid accepted for musona. I think our team is looking brilliant, GK to be confirmed and a striker and I'm sure well be fine, the huns sign a lee wallace who the had to pay over the odds for, and your acting as if we've not bought a player in years.

Don't be too quick about dismissing the new signings we have made. I like the look of Wilson and I have heard very good things about Mathews. I think a keeper and a striker should be good enough for us this year plus the team will have taken a lot of motivation from last year. I think we can afford to take our time with the last two and would prefer the picked wisely as opposed to rush a few last minute.

Rangers need new players, and fast. We don't we can pick up a few quality players here and we are set, they lost a *-load of players at the end of last year. We should be focused more on selling players than buying.

this is the best squad we've had in years and i believe we will improve this year as the players are now fimilar with each other - take our midfield last year for example - that was the first time they've played together as a unit so u wud expect improvements individually and collectively as they now know each others game....

i thinks its common knowledge we need a big aggressive striker similar to hartson or sutton and a goalkeeper....and maybe say goodbye to at least 3 maybe 4.....who do u recommend realistic players that we could get???? i think murphy was bought for this striker role but hasnt performed and sammy iv lost faith in...

but credit to lennon and his transfer policy so far - he's being top notch....

There's no way we're getting left behind.

Realistically who have we went for that hasn't signed???

Also the priorities for this window have been CB, HK and ST.

Wanyama is clearly the CB, as Lenny has stated. The GK position is clearly being worked on, with Pletikosa, Stijnen and now Sandomierski being looked at (would happily take Stipe and Gregorsz right now)

As for the ST, we are also looking at Mphela next week and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if we managed to pull off a wee coup of a signing in that particular area.

Ok, it may not have happened as quickly as we would have liked but Lenny & the Bhoys were in Oz right from the off and have only been back for a week - during which we've brought in Victor and managed to have a look at 2 keepers and arranged for another GK and ST to come over.

Also it's been the shortest close season ever, so hasn't allowed for much time, if you take holidays, etc into account.

Whilst I would have loved all of our business to have been complete in time for the new Bhoys travelling to Oz, I'm confident the gaffer will bring in the right players in the right positions.

As always, In Lenny We Trust!

Time to clear out the deadwood like sammy , murphy , loovens , maloney mcginn etc before we make any signings .
