I am glad this side didnt play in the CL this season. People slagged our CHs in WGS's time but they were part of some amazing backs to the walls performances in our CL runs against far superior teams. I think this seasons CHs would not have survived in the CL. There is just too many that either have virtually no experience or are not good enough. I think we could have ended up with 6 or 7 goals being lost in one game against the top sides (especially pre-Xmas when we had no DMs)

If I remember correctly WGS quickly concluded that Camara (who had already signed before he arrived BTW) was * and soon stopped picking him. I think he tried everyone there - Pearson, Wallace etc

Ross Wallace done ok at LB

But Wilson made the position his own for the most part of the season, the final half

We'll see how we do in the last 16. Absolutely no doubt if we keep the team together they'll become a much better team than Strachans. The potentials there, just a matter of keeping the squad together and fufilling it :shamrock:

Strachans team definitely had more experience but Lennons team for such a young squad many of whom have never played at this level before their achievements so far are staggering.

No way. Strachan kept up domestic form as well as European.

Lennon's team barely turns up domestically in some games.

Lennons team has a better record in the League, domestic Cups and Europe than Strachans :97:

Not only that but its full of better players too.

Strachan's highest points tally was lower than Lennon's lowest.

How can you possibly back that up? Whatsoever?

    I'm not sure.

Both teams are very similar. Strachan's side played the better football for sure against Benfica but Lennon's have achieved the best results imo winning away and at home to Barca.

I'm a happy fan at the moment. Best I've felt since WGS was here.

I don't think the sides are very similar at all really. The current side tries to knock it about as much as possible while Strachan played slightly more of a 'hoof ball' tactic. Lenny's lions certainly play the better football.

I agree with that. The football under Strachan could industrial at times. In Europe, Lennon has got more out of his players for me.

I think its early to say if this side is better or not. Another campaign next season will tell.

Lucky to have had two managers who done so well, and also MON before them who started things off for us in this era.
