It's you that is constantly harping on about Deila being a loser. In Lennon's first season, all we won was the Scottish Cup, and we were knocked out of Europe before Halloween. Yet you say it was an excellent season. Is that not a bit of a loser mentality?

sorry forgot about tommys team there but I was just thinking of the team during most of the nineties which apart from the maestro, john Collins, and paul Elliot had some of the worst players ive seen in my almost 35 years of watching celtic.

We shouldn't be using previous manager's failures to justify others remember :86:

Winning one domestic cup, and not qualifying for the Group Stages in Europe cannot in any capacity be viewed as an excellent season at Celtic in my opinion.

A retired Charlie Nick would be better in defence than any of those three :smiley-laughing002:

I did say some btw. tommy was brilliant. peter the provo worked his * off. but by his own admission celtic needed better players than him to progress. Charlie had one good season when he came back when he scored I think 26 goals but he was done almost by then. boyd for izzaguire * aye granty for brown or bitton no chance and Nicholas for Griffiths. maybe on that one seasons form but that's it.

I started watching football when tommy burns became manager when I was 6 & have been pretty much obsessed with Celtic ever since they say men think about * every 6 seconds well inbetween those 6 seconds im thinking about celtic, when I was at school me & my mates would just talk about celtic n play football my family could never afford a season ticket but in 2006 I bought my first one & loved it I went everywhere home & away it would be unthinkable for me to miss a game but this season I sit in my house on the morning of a game & think I cant be bothered going I just cant face it.

Saturday was the final straw for me that was horrific that was pretty much the death of Celtic for me things will never be the same again more and more fans are turning away I used to moan about those fans now I dont blame them why pay money or even bother moving your * to go and watch that muck, the manager is clueless the players are gutless & are not good enough & thats the way its always gonna be from now on & probably get worse no point talking about champ league for next year coz we will never qualify again.

I actually get angry with celtic now, the board, manager & players & I simply dont care about the club as much and Im beginning to care less and less & I never thought that would happen to me.

Only having a wee laugh mate, just trying to emphasise how bad our defence is at the moment. Yir spot on about Elliot, would love someone like him or The Bear to take control of that defence, nae leaders at the back in this present team.

hopefully big jozo the few games he has played he has been trying to organise things at the back. just hope its not too much for a lad of 22 just starting in a different country to handle all of that. but anyway as the op asks no ill never have apathy towards celtic I didn't then and I wont now

Aye, the sooner we get him settled in, the better, if I remember correctly I'm sure it took Elliot quite a few games to settle in up here, the pace of the game up here caught him out a few times to start with.

Watched 2005-06 again. Just realised how lucky we were to have Naka. Someone who could create chanced with his incredible technique.

The quality has been allowed to dwindle over the years. Commons is the closest we have to it. Can produce something from nothing.

Have to say taken a bit of time away from the board just to see how things have progressed over the last few weeks and see especially how we did in Europe. However the appointment of a fecking tory onto the board and the chairman at odds with the fans I find myself with a real apathy towards things at the minute.
Really came into the season expecting big things especially from ronny who I thought had us playing some great stuff from January till May last season. I honestly would be glad to see the back of him now though I think hes tactically useless but that's besides the point. We look so ordinary this year its shocking, no passion, no guile and no leadership. Its really disheartening. I have tried not to be negative on these boards but its breaking my heart seeing us where we are now especially when only 3 years ago we were in the last 16 of the champions league- its some fall from grace it really is.

As the opening poster i have been interested in reading all the posts and i can see that quite a lot of people are feeling the same as me. I was * drunk when i wrote all that and although some of it was maybe a bit strong it is actually how i'm feeling now. It wasnt a Ronny bashing thread although some posters tried to make it that. It was about the apathy i now feel about the whole club and i lay most of the blame for that on the board who i think are killing this club. One poster said, "40 years following the club and only now he feels apathy". But that was the whole point of my thread. Ive watched the good, and the bad, and the very bad. But even at the worst of those times there was something, a special player, a team spirit, a committed team of players, some kind of hope that things would get better. I dont see any of that at the club now. Just a constant downsizing and lack of ambition and a "sure we cant compete with the epl" attitude.

You determine your own attitude about Celtic, the end.

Cheated out of a treble last year, leading the league and in all cups this year show some our fans have little idea what a "bad" season looks like.

It's just attention seeking isn't it? All this constant "woe is me" pish.

"Look how much Celtic have hurt me" wailing - I see more manliness from the 40 emo's that constantly stand out Glasgow Central.

Can't you cheer yourself up by watching the Twilight box set or something?

No, you don't. If you do I don't think there's any genuine feeling behind it, you can't force a connection with everything about the club. There are moments and times beyond anything you can determine, I don't think I could ever make myself have the same level of emotion watching Leigh Griffiths than I did Henrik Larsson, I get goosebumps when I see old videos of Henrik, I feel like crying, adoration beyond what I've had for anyone. The connection with Martin O'Neill's team and time at Celtic is something I've struggled to come close to since. That's the team I think of when I think of Celtic, that was the peak for me.

I can't force myself to determine the same connection I had with them than to the current Celtic, you can't just decide that's what's going to happen. The closest I've got to that since has been Neil Lennon's team, possibly because he took over a shambles as well and made us into something to be proud of again, stood up to the giants of football and brought a togetherness to the club that I've not witnessed in a long, long time.

And it wasn't just because the beating of the likes of Barca or the 3-0 pumpings we dished out on a couple of occasions to Oldco. It was the passion from the dug out and on the pitch that fed into the fans, that brought back the thunder. I've never been prouder of Celtic or there fans outside of Seville and the day we lost the league in Lenny's last season, beating Motherwell knowing full well the league was going to Ibrox, the first full stadium Huddle amd singing Something Inside so Strong to Neil Lennon to let him know that we all stood with him, that's something you can't just fake, you can't just decide I want this, I will have that sort of connection with the club or team. It's just something that happens.

That connection, that feeling, that's the opposite of apathy for me and that's not something that should be faked, it's not something that can just be decided on a whim. It's those sorta moments that makes me live as a Celtic fan, the ups and downs. The feeling of togetherness and absolute * ecstatic highs the club can take you on, that's not something I decide for myself.

I couldn't imagine determining for myself, when we win the League this season I'm going to have the same feeling and connection with the club as I did on Tommy Burns Thursday, it's not artificial, it's something that comes from within.

That's what the club needs to deliver for me. That's something it isn't at the moment.
