He might have started tomorrow, and that is only because we have Bitton and Johansen suspended, and Brown is a doubt. How often will that happen throughout the season? Keeping hold of a youngster in case we have 3 first team players who play in his position out would be far more detrimental to his development than him playing regular football with Hibs.

Good point. Decisions like that baffle me and make me lose confidence in the manager.

Would Darnell Fisher ever have become a solid right back for Celtic? Who knows.

What we do know is that Efe Ambrose will never be a solid right back for Celtic, so what was the point of playing him there ahead of a youngster like Fisher?

If we're really, seriously talking about developing our own then decisions such as that one need to stop being made.

Tierney is working to up his fitness and shouldn't play 3 times a week now.. Would be disappointed if he doesn't start against Ajax

Even though I have a reputation for loosing the head on here, I dont think anone is kinder to our youth players than me. I think some of the opinions about McGregor is a disgrace. I agree that he is not first 11 material but he is a useful player to have around. But that is the point isnt it? How would people feel if Callum started above Commons, you cant just give youth players games ahead of better senior players, they have to be good enough and they have to take it. On the one hand people say they want youth but with the other they slate the lads for not being good enough. Developing young players only works if they are good enough. Shoehorning them in for the sake of it is bullshit.

McGregor isn't really a young player anymore though. He's what, 23?

I thought Liam was good enough to be a first team backup so yes. Like I said earlier we are developing them to be Celtic players. 15 games for us is better than 30 for Hibs.

What if he was filling in, and playing out of his natural position for most of they games? Which would have more than likely been the case, as we are stronger in the middle of the park than anywhere else in our team.

Tierney has been getting decent game time though mate and i actually think he would have played more youths last year if alot of the fans hadn't gotten on his back about results.

I can see Nesbit gettin blooded into the team this year as well.

He was on a decent run before Inter as well, scoring at Accies and Thistle and doing a job (well) on the left of the 3 at places like Killie as well. Sending him out on loan was probably the right call don't get me wrong, but he'd easily have played his share this year with Broony being out for a few, Mulgrew missing loads as well leaving Botton as our only real recognised holding midfielder. As that's (eventually) Henderson's position..

Armstrong is woeful at dead ball's. He's been hideous with them overall all season..

If we get knocked out of the Europa on Thursday or in Turkey, I think we'll see him come in for domestic league game's when we've got a 9/10 point cushion and are chasing the treble. For me, we shouldn't be waiting to blooding boy's like this..

I think if we get pumped again in the Europa he wouldn't be here.

Well that's how Ronny was using him anyway when he was here. I have high hopes for him. He has instincts for the game that you cant teach. What we need to teach him is how to be a Celtic player and there is only one way to do that. I think he could have been used in rotation in the bank of two and coming off the bench. I did mention the Bitton contract situation and I did think he was away so I was more perplexed at his loan. Still though I think this will work out for us and if Hibs come up a half season in the SPFL could be done. I do think from this time next year though we need to get him first team games in our midfield.

Agree with this, some game time in the Premiership for Hibs wouldn't do him any harm either.
