Yes but there's plenty of time to get a new players in. I am a bit concerned about the LB position if we only have Mulgrew who is better going forward and Misun who looked better at CB the other night. Hopefully Ledley will be the goal scoring CM we've not had in a while.

Still well over a month to get players in for the league ,the champs league games might have came along to quick for us but thats Celtic's own fault in not claiming the league last season but you never know they might just get it right on the night .

Im confident Celtic will win the league but Europe nah not ready for that yet.

one thing that concerned me recently is lennon said that braga were an attacking team who scored lots, when infact they are good defensively but dont score a huge amount

main thing is that walter smith always seems to pick rabbits out of the hat in the transfer market and always seems to get the best out of distinctly average players, which could be good enough since we're in transition AGAIN! overall i'm quite confident though, just pray the title's coming home

Yes, I have doubts over a few things actually, the first huge doubt is when this proven goalscorer is brought in, we need someone who will score goals we havent got that and we are 1 week away from a CRUCIAL CL qualifier against a very respectable team.
I also have massive doubts over Murphy, 1.5m for a player who has NEVER consistently found the net? Dont we have that in Fortune?
However I do believe we will win the league but will go home early in europe in both the CL and the europa league unless some serious quality players are brought in.

On a more positive note im happy with Ledley and Juarez, they both look class

I'm lookin forward to it but kinda concerned that we have no idea who our 2 best centre halves are and that our strikeforce looks pretty weak.

Still, trying to stay positive! :50:

I think that Lenny knows his CB pairing. Just if Campell signs, it will change his thinking slightly:50:

four leaf clover, just cant get enough.
I don't expect much out this years Euro campaign but if we don't humble Rangers by Easter I will be sad. They are light as * (baring them bring in some fresh blood out of the blue at the deadline) they should be breaking down by X-mas, if we don't do them this year it will be an ultimate failure. So my fear is us not killing them this year getting the Cl money for next year and taking the foot of the neck even more than we already have done.

Braga game is a worry for me as it is for every one else as the cut off point for new signings to be put on the team sheet to play in the away leg is * TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!! with only 1 signing allowed to sign upto 24 hours after that, the my question is if Celtic leave it to the 24th hour the next day who is it that we sign a CB or ST? in a way both needed as much as the next as in defense we gave silly goals away and upfront we missed easy chances unless we sign BOTH at the same time before end of tomorrow one of those problems will still remain.

although as i was saying in a previous thread with the striker issue i think it will be a rass and fortune partership one to work the defenders the other poaches the goals and so long as our midfield of players like ledley, mcgeady (if he's here) Ki and Juarez can provide the service goals will come and not to forget we still have the assists that Hinkel (if he's here) and Mulgrew and also Cha can provide so to me it seems like there should be an abundance of service to the strikers and if i'm being to optimistic possibley the most choices of service we've had in a good number of years, what i mean by that is Mulgrew can cross a ball well, Ledley has got a sweet left foot also, Cha is almost olympic fast and from the WC showed at a bad passer either, Hinkel was one of the highest assisters last season if i stand corrected Juarez i'm going to GUESS he's a deep playing midfielder who can pick locks from distance, so with all these players and working out the best way to use them and the full backs more the likely to play on the overlap in the SPL atleast who the * does the opposistion mark when celtic are on the ball?

Ive not been this confident about Celtics fortunes in a long time,We have a manager that doesnt talk *, unlike that mowbray who was in lala land,Im expecting to see MON style of football,we'll become a hard team to beat and will whip a few teams this year...

No doubts about the coming season. I think Lenny will win the title before the split and win a cup. So a double in his first full season.

Rangers will struggle minus Boyd's goals, Novo's passion and a thread bare ageing squad.

We have more than enough in the tank to cope, we could do with a natural goalscorer to ensure we win it.

I expect Daryl Murphy to have too much pace and power for most SPL defenders and he'll create a lot of chances for the likes of Rasmussen, Fortune and Maloney.

On the European front - we need a few breaks to get to the CL, I think we are due them so I predict we'll make it. We've got a great draw v Braga and in the next round we could face Auxerre or Sampdoria either of which would hold no fears.

Lenny's just got to get to grips with his best 11 and formation and stick to it. Last season Mowbrays mistake was he never knew his best 11 and only knew how to play one way - attack. Very niaive really.

Lenny's a different kettle of fish. More pragmatic, more steel and has real passion and enthusiasm. He'll be kicking every ball with the team.

I am not expecting anything spectacular in Europe this season, we might get some respectability back after the Arsenal tie last year, and that at least will be progress.

    Roll on season 2010/2011

    Worried about CB pairing
    Worried about LB
Worried about (not) getting a poaching type striker

But these issues can be sorted out by Braga time (hopefully)

Less pressing issue is the over-bloated squad, but on the whole I'm pretty optimistic. I think if we beat Braga over 2 legs (and sort the defence out) we'll have a very good foundation for a good season.

i assume something will happen by end of play tomorrow and we will leave it late to just scrape by Braga but in the next round i can't see how we will get through as there teams like Spurs waiting and i give teams like that respect and as much i would love celtic to bring back the old fortress of CP and take another scalp after Arsenal i just can't see how we would get past teams like that.

aslong as we can get players in that don't rely on CL money to afford them, then for this season i would just concentrate on hammering the league hard and doing a WGS and have it won by XMAS and then start thinking of CL players to get in, risky i know but can we even afford to do it now and risk our stability for the sake of just getting past Braga with yet another qaulifer still to go against some serious teams or even having dissapointing group run in either CL or Europa and then having to cope with burdens of players like Campbell and James coming here expecting CL?
