We certainly have missed him this season, don't let our recent form disguise that fact.

We struggled massively to score goals and convert chances the first few games and he would have been the perfect player to have had at that particular time.

We don't miss him one bit. There's no room in football for twin strikers anymore. Stokes just gets in the road.

I've noticed your hate * for Stokes before but you've never really explained it

Wait till (and I hope it never happens) Hooper-man gets a knock, then suddenly Tony is our best option in that role if Stokesy is gone.

That's a lot of pressure on a young lad.

Miku has not shown any indication to date of being able to lead the line, and thats not Lassad's game.

Why would you say we don't need him? I just cant see that, if even only use him domestically I think there's a place there for him.

Loses the ball too much and has absolutely no pace. He's a scorer of great goals against poor opposition.

Don't get me wrong, we'll get away with playing him against the poorer teams. Nobody will convince me he's a better player than Miku though and I'd rather give Watt a chance as he seem to have the attributes to further his game.

Spot on. It was more than obvious tbh. And anyone who argues otherwise is blinded by our recent - admittedly very very good - form. :50:

He's scored against everyteam in the SPL and in Europe. As well as being one of the top assisters and consistantly hitting the 20 goal mark a season. As well as big goals at the big stages of the season.

So to surmise. You're talking gumph.

    We do miss Stokes.

You could guarantee that Stokes would be near the top of both the goals and assist chart this season. We do have goals throughout the team but Stokes is clinical and has proved himself in the SPL. Stokes has scored and assisted plenty for us, last seasons stats back that up.

Hooper is scoring the majority of our goals, our midfield have done brilliantly to chip in, young Watt is getting the chance to prove himself but Stokes would be welcomed back with open arms.

The manager doesn't trust him against Rangers. Says it all mate. Offers very little against good opposition.

The only way I'd play him at all in these matches is if Hooper, Samaras and Miku were all out. We've been superb with the one hit-man and bringing Stokes into the team would change that.

Assists are so inaccurate that I don't bother with them btw.

No it doesn't say it all. He scored repeatedly against Rangers for Hibs; infact he holds the record for fastest goal in the SPL against the Huns. He has scored at every level for Celtic.

We have rarely played with the one hitman, Commons has been fulfilling Stokes role most of the season. He's just not as good at it as Stokes, even though he has different admirable qualities.

This is an interesting logic, I must confess. I am not completely in disagreement with regard to some of your remarks concerning Stokes....but entirely disregarding assists is a baffling one, IMO.

Well, say Commons plays a killer of a pass through the defense to Watt who then lays on a 5 yard pass to Hooper for the goal, Watt gets the assist?

    Load of baloney.

We can all judge players but their all round game rather than a bunch of stats on a sheet.

Have you ever seen me on here going on about assists? No chance.
