Lets remember that Hibs are the same mob who managed to sell us Scott Brown for £4.4m and trick us into thinking that Chris Killen was a footballer.

I would take Stokes thisnow. I think he could do a job till Hooper is fit then together they could form a great pairing upfront for the rest of the season. He maybe isnt the star type of signing we would normally look for but now we are out off europe we must concentrate on winning the League. I think these two together could really push us towards that.

So far it looks like we could get goals from midfield in the SPL but having a proven goalscorer will really help us secure that top place.

    Just my thoughts

Just a wind up lol. :56: I think Stokes would be better than Fortune, anyways.

If given the same number of games i'd have backed Rasmussem to outscore Stokes.

I don't know about this. Ras was having some major fitness issues, thats why we let him go, but only on loan, to see if they might be resolved somewhere else. He was sluggish and just downright poor all preseason.. Hutchie was playing better than he was.

Stokes seems fit and ready to go. 2 million seems a bit much. But we paid 4 didn't we for Fortune? Maybe this is what players cost thesedays.. Inflated market.

2m is still a reasonable price for a player who will guarante you 20+ goals a season. Also it we wouldnt have to change formation as hes used to playing through the midde on his own at hibs

I would prefer Stokes & Hooper as my front two instead of Samaras & Fortune any day of the week, Samaras & Fortune were hopeless in far too many vital games for us, they simply idn't give anywhere near 100% when required.

Celtic will be far better of without this pair of losers !!!

Playing and scoring for hibs is a lot friggen easier than doing the buisness for us would be !! We have a player in hooper who has actual pace and sharpness something stokes doesnt !!

chirs killen was making his way to cardiff when WGS got onto his agent and asked him to come back up the road for talks

nothing to do with hibs mate

major fitness issues? and why we let him go? nothing has been said why he has been let go

and did you see him in that game he look leaner and fit as a fiddle poor pre season he got some time hear and there not loads....

looks more like he is not lennon's cup of tea and wanted him out the door as fast as he could get him out

don't you think scoreing for a team who are not as good as us tells you somthing about the guy aswell

scott mcdonald springs to mind at motherwell.....

hooper is out for 6 weeks and add 2-3 on top to get him match fit

we only have samaras and murphy both have don't have the best goal scoring records now do they and we are crying out for a forward right now....

Lennon likes fast players. Ras was slow as * at the end of last season and all preseason long. I didn't watch the games he's played since he's been on loan, but this summer he looked about a stone overweight. Sure it's speculation, but I'm willing to bet a large sum fitness and his lack of speed had something to do with it.

then why did he get mulgrew and plays that other dutch lump hooivld if he likes pace?

he looks in great shape, and thats not down to the loan he was match fit before he went over to germany so you can see my point asking about it

he has a better goal game ratio than murphy and MAF for his old club and only got 2 starts

never had a fair go at it and ithink never will

Wolfsburg and Stuttgart are pretty much better than any team in the SPL. Ras has scored against both...

There is the fact there that he is a finisher. Who gives a * about his speed when we are crying out for a goalscorer. Lennon is abit of a daftie letting him go in my opinion, I would rather punt that pointless buy Murphy.

great post mate, you really can't knock bug ras, he never had his chance at parkhead

and yes he is 2 in 2 in the german bundesliga, a leauge thats much better than the spl, he is a 6 yard box finisher, and thats what we need, yet lennon let him go, i hope big ras bangs them in left right and center aswell for them this season, and then comes back to the hoops

Hooieveld was brought in by mogga. Mulgrew was brought in because he was a set piece wizard, supposedly. Hey, everyone makes mistakes. Same goes for Murphy. And I don't know if the SPL should be compared to the Danish League m8.

I think we'll find out soon that Stokes will be better than Ras, Sammy, MAF, and Murphy, etc. 2 million is not too much to ask for a top SPL goal scorer. Hibs are going to be WRECKED if they lose him.
