Peter Lawwell DIDN'T PROMISE a marquee signing. In fact he is on record as saying that it would be very difficult to bring a marquee signing to the club because of wage demands and that if it was to happen it would have to be inventive and at least spell his name right.

People are getting * because we didn't sign Robbie. Everton actually tried to get him on loan yesterday and Harry told Moyes to give him Saha then. Robbie wasn't available for us and he probably didn't want to come. We tried Bullard, James, Sol, Steven Taylor, Bellamy none of them wanted to come.

I hear Robbie Keane has a flight booked in from Glasgow airport on the 30th January 2012. My mate works for easy jet and my other mate who works for the superstore has been asked to work late that night. Looks promising LOL.

I'm going to go through those posts in the transfer rumours page and expose all you Liars.

2 goal scorers/poachers, a shitload of quality midfielders most who are goalscoring, a right-back (for those who hated Hinkel, not me), 2 left-backs (although one is gash), a big tough CB (along with Hooiveld, Rogne and Misun who are 3 pretty much new signings)......

I mean that's pretty much what anyone could ask for?

I don't think we need a marquee signing, in many ways I think it actually works against have a true team spirit. It is however disappointing that another quality centre back was not signed before the deadline, I don't rate Hooisveld or Loovens at all, perhaps young Rogne can solve this problem when he recovers from the current injury.

Our Directors have worked another flanker in terms of the transfer " In's & Out's ", in January we swopped loads of players and the collective cost was something like £1.75 mil in total costs, this time we sold Mc Gready, Boruc and Fortune for about £15 Mil, yet only something like £9 Mil was paid out.

So the lost of revenue for the last year has been covered by the Celtic Board, they had better hope the current squad can deliver the SPL title or they will be in real trouble with the season ticket holders next year.

Yes Mr Lawwell and Desmond will be delighted that the transfer window is now closed, as some of my fellow supporters have also worked out that last years debt has already been wiped out by the sales of Mc Geady, so they'll be patting each other on the back that once again they have made a profit during the transfer window.

I honestly hope that this current bunch of players can lift the SPL this season, I think with Stokes and Hooper we have a far more potent goal threat than last season, but I still have concerns about this defence. Big Danny Bhoy looks to be a good organiser and that certainly helps, but our centre backs are all slow with the exception of Rogne. I think we should gone and signed another mobile hard nosed centre back with the profit made during the current transfer window.

If they are a better quality than those they replaced then what difference does it make how much a player cost?

I'll judge them on their performances once they've played a few games, not on their price tag.

Does this mean that we are once again debt free?

Fair enough but don't think it's too unreasonable to say the better the player, the more expensive they are. Know there are always exceptions but I always think that generally you get what you pay for.

I would be more concerned with the change in quality rather than the expenditure. We are a far better squad than we were 12 months ago

I'm sure they'll dig up a wee bit of debt from somewhere:rolleyes:

These idiots have cost us a fortune over the last couple of years. That's a fact.

    Agreed.
Still think our defense could have been made stronger. But, we have signed players that will score goals in midfield and up front. Plus, we can always strengthen in January. We might have tried to get more players or we might have said we've signed enough for now, let's make these guy's into a team. The players we have signed gives me the impression we won't be relying on playing down the wings and getting more from our central players.

What??? You must be having a laugh. Better coach, yes but squad? No way.

Samaras couldn't get in the team this time last season and now he's our top striker lol

They appointed a manager, backed him but it didn't work. Thy changed it and have backed Lenny. They are doing what they can.

We have to realise we don't have a bottomless pit of cash

Look at the quality of players we have ? Sold our best asset for 10 million and what have we replaced him with ?
