Not that it holds much value but from what i believe Roberts will only come to Celtic if we get to the CL group stages if not he would rather stay in England and pursue the EPL. How much truth is in that i honestly do not know i would love him to come full time but i really cant see it

Would be a bit short sighted if it was a 4 year deal

It may be more relevant if by that time he is not registered as one of the 25 city squad so will pursue a loan or move

Be very, VERY dissapointed and angry if the rumour we offered less than £5mil up front is true. Insulting to the class of player he is.

Don't believe that tbh, we have close ties with City, they have probably told us what they want and we've realised he's out of our price bracket. I'd be surprised if we'd bid at all.

It is still early in the window though, so who knows, but I think with a heavy heart we need to move on.

Don't think we will have bid.

We will have asked city how much they wanted.

    "£15m"

    Right sound.

I think we should spend the 15mil then. He's no unproven quantity, we know he's absolute top class. Guarantee to at least make that money back, more than likely massive profit. Sometimes in modern football you have to be prepared to spend.

Aye, and sometimes in life you have to take a reality check. We will not be spending £15m on Paddy. We do not have that kind of money to spend.

We absolutely do. What would happen if we spent £15mil on him then? Bankruptcy?

Going to treat your sarcy remark as a rhetorical question.

We are not in a position to spend those kind of sums on one player. We won't even spend that amount this entire window.

We could spend £15m on him but that's reckless and stupid when he's relatively unproven outside of Scotland, it's not like he tore it up in the UCL group stage. Don't get me wrong I think he could but you have to be prepared for him not or a tragic injury it would cost us dearly when we could spend a third of that and get someone effective.

Probably not, but if we're serious about being the sort of club Rodgers wants us to be, we should.

If we spent £10mil> on Roberts, there's almost no scenario we don't at least recoup that money. Selling Wanyama and Van Dijk and Forster and over 50,000 season tickets two years in a row and reaching the Champions League groups after 2 successive years in the Europa League groups. We're not exactly forced to look for the cheap option. We choose to.

I agree. The funny thing is our best champuons league performance was home to Man City and not inly did Forrest start but he was brilliant and got an assist. Roberts is a classy player but 15 million is madness. That english football mad type prices.
