I love ye mate. You know that.

 

I think it's really straightforward: Ange loved his time here, is being honest when he speaks fondly of the supporters and is fully respectful of the chance Celtic took on him when nobody else would. However, he's an unusually driven individual and has had to be almost ruthless given where he started. He walked out on Brisbane a day after the victory parade.

He's also spoken many times about not spending much time reflecting on the past, and how there will plenty of time for that once he's retired. I never really hear him talk about Brisbane, Melbourne or Yokohama, so just the fact that he's spoken about Celtic in such glowing terms suggests that it is something special to him.

 

We'll pump his dodgy inverted full back pish next year in the champions league.

Ange Postecoglou shortlisted for prestigious award, Celtic impact recognised


Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been named on the FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year shortlist. The Australian led Celtic to a Treble before departing for Tottenham Hotspur earlier this year

Now, he has been recognised along with the likes of Pep Guardiola on the shortlist.

 

Would he have been on it if he hadn't went to Spurs though?

 

Not a chance. Its always the same. Always reminds me of how Van Dijk was never capped at us and as soon as he went to Southampton he was. It was clear for like 2 years prior that he was the best CB for Netherlands

 

It's genuinely wild how many tactical videos have popped up about Angeball since his move to Spurs.

He's clearly the latest fad down south and content creators are riding that wave, but still nice to see for the Angeoholics amongst us.

Just a shame that he didn't get anywhere near the same recognition here!

 

No mate that was fair enough, because he was just SPL level when with us.

Then the minute he signed for Southampton he became good, that's how it works.

 

He was reasonably regularly featured on the news (Sydney) during his time at Celtic. Haven't noticed any Spurs bulletins though, which is a surprise given he's the new darling of the football hipsters.

 

I'm an Aussie currently back in Australia from the UK for the first time in 6 years. I'd kind of forgotten just how little football (socca!) even registers. It's basically wall to wall coverage of NRL and AFL atm.

Granted it's finals time for both leagues, but meh, I doubt it'd be much different at any time. Sad.
