I watched an interview with him earlier, he didn't cough once through it. It was only 1'35" but still, I thought it was weird.

Getting kinda sick of the sight of him now, never thought I'd say that! Just when I Google Celtic news, or Glasgow news etc, there's stories about him pop up like what he's planning for Spurs, or Mooy considering his options after Postecoglu leaves etc. Wish him the best and will always remember his time here fondly, but am no interested in what he's doing now man.

Just been thinking about this and getting delayed rage at the fact he put out that not giving a * team vs the huns probably knowing full well he may have been offski. If that's true its unforgivable.

Giving those * any glimmer of hope is unacceptable.

Obviously I don't have the deep connection to Celtic FC as you guys, but the way I see it he came in at a low point for the club, on and off the pitch there was anger, there was division between fans and management- and within fans- seemingly no overall direction for the club, basically the club was in disarray. ( Actually this is more or less where Spurs are right now..)

He culled players that wouldn't or couldn't fit his vision, he brought in players that could, he insisted on early transfers, navigated a period where there barely enough fit players, got the squad to buy-in, set up a plan where the academy and seniors were on the same page, opened up new player markets, set up backroom analysis processes, restored the vision that Celtic should be competing in the Champions League every season and not lying down to any of them, transformed the style of play, and most of all united the fans, the players and the club heirarchy and completely changed the mood of anything Celtic.

There was even a point there where he had to put foot down with the club management ("Perhaps I haven't made myself clear enough...."), and through sheer force of personality got things done.

Along the way, he won 5 out of 6 trophies.

He leaves a strong platform for the next manager and for the club to build even more success unlike what he was given to work with when he arrived. That champions league is the focus this season as we've already heard is down to him. These are legacies he leaves behind.

On the negative, his success at Celtic opened doors for him personally and, yes, he kept it form the fans and club, and yes he left without saying a decent goodbye.

You can criticize him for the last point, but I wouldn't think any fair-minded Celtic fans, if they met him, could look him in the eye and then spoke bad of him to his face. I say that knowing that would be exactly the same with the Brisbane fans, the Yokohama fans and the Australian NT fans. He has always left the joint better than it was when he arrived.

Funny you mention looking people in the eye when the man in question was notoriously bad at looking people in the eye. Say what you want about Rodgers but unlike Ange he has baws bigger enough to look the support in the eye and lie to us. Ange is a coward and that's probably the most disappointing thing about him.

I don't think he was even in talks with them then to be fair.
They was still chasing guys like Enrique at that stage.

We also had massive changes at the back for a few games during that period, after the league was won.

It was an opportunity for guys like kobi and Bernie to get game time.

I think he was testing a few players, against a decent level of competition, to know who could be relied on next season, and what positions needed strengthening.

I think it made clear who may be capable of the level, and challenging for the starting XI, and who can’t.

Useful bit of planning for next season, but disappointing the team couldn’t get the result.

That’s just click bait journalism for you, may be something in it, but most likely not. Easy clicks for those jurno’s.

It’s taken me awhile to get over it, but like all things it takes time and I’m good again. Anger is gone… unless he starts poaching our players. In fact there is a little bit of anger, that he didn’t bury the hun with 6 out of 6 trophies :fear: :giggle1:

Onto next season we go, time for me to bury any ill feelings towards BR and win the treble.
