No, but Scottish clubs should give up trying to play fancy football in Europe. We get humiliated more and more.

Rodgers played 5 at the back against Barca and we conceded 7. I'd rather try and have a go and eventually tire and get beat by the champions of Europe than try to play in a way that is anathema to the squad we have and get battered anyway.

The huns are the epitome of trying not to get beat in Europe rather than trying to win and they were just bodied by Liverpool's second string

Rodgers also had no clue about defending. Shakhtar showed how to defend well, this season.

Wouldn't call Ange a defensive manager either. Our strengths are in attack so we should play to our strengths not our weaknesses. Donetsk also got lucky by playing Leipzig before they brought in Rose and were massively underperforming.

Asking this Celtic team to play in Europe like Lennon's or Strachan's teams would be like asking Herrera's Inter team to play like 1970 Brazil

Noted, but we're not good enough to play our usual football in Europe. Ange will have to adapt. Shakhtar got lucky to not play Real first, but in order to use luck, the tactics need to be spot on. And theirs are. They could've beaten Real last time, BTW. That was bad luck they got, the equaliser of Real.

Interesting wee switch in tactics today, Haksabanovic holding so much width and CCV going long to him, Mooy supporting O’Riley and choosing when to get forward making the midfield a bit more solid, Hatate extremely attacking.

I like wee changes mixing it up like that

Which Scottish clubs? You're surely not speaking about Rangers or Hearts, who play anything but 'fancy football'. And guess what? They've both been humiliated this year despite setting up to be solid and restrict damage.

You can play away at Anfield, put loads of men behind the ball and barely come out of your own half, yet still lose 2-0. That's the level in the Champion's League. We've seen it ourselves in the past where we've got pumped by several goals without ever landing a glove on the opposition and it's disheartening for the fans and the players.

Yet despite our lacklustre CL results this year, there are signs for optimism that other "Scottish clubs" are unlikely to share, given that we've been in every match we've played, we've created multiple chances to score against every opponent and we've not been dominated in any game, apart from the final 30 minutes against Real.

Small tweaks like we saw from Ange today, getting better at playing our football and players utilising the experience they will have gained is the way forward, not completely changing our approach.

I admit that I should have been more specific. Yes, only we play fancy football. But still. Even after today's great play, I have to say that Hibs are...Hibs. The jump in quality we face in Europe is huge.

Our best European results in the more recent history never came from trying to beat the big guns at their own game. Ange believes it can be done- he's adamant about it. Yet, we have many things working against us, from injuries to key players, to overly open tactics. I like the guy, but I wish WGS would take charge of European games. Seriously. ATM, Europe is just too stressful.

Did they though? We battered them in the second half and missed chance after chance. On another night we could have won that game by 3 or 4.

We've played defensive before in the past and been absolutely humped by teams in europe.

Okay, but we've never played free-flowing, eye-candy football and beaten a big team in modern Celtic history (MON and onwards). Defensive, old-school football has given us big victories.

Seems to be getting worse. He can't even look the reporter in the eye when talking. You can see the cough effecting his eyes aswell. Could be an issue also giving team talks that would! You've someone there trying to give very strong team talks yet he's coughing, pausing every few seconds. Hope the bog man gets it sorted because if it's the sane thing I have, it can be a right * of a thing when talking to people. It can effect your self confidence.
