Unbearable, in a word. :56: At least I'll admit it though. San Diegans don't really have a lot to cheer about sports-wise. Every major market it seems has at least one pro or college team that is always challenging for a title. That's changed in the last 2-3 years with the Chargers.

I have been trying to watch the game on monday, but no luck. what can I say, the raiders get closer and closer every year. 3 years ago they would have lost with 30 points I guess. same old story but at least it's entertaining.

I don't know if any of you know of a site called NFLUK.com but it has a predictions game running for the NFL season which is fun to do. I don't think there's any prize up for grabs but you can compare yourself against the site's resident 'experts' and we can keep each other up to date on how we're doing as well for a laugh.

The site also has a forum, some good stuff on it about the history of the game and the basics of the rules. Which might might be handy for anyone who is interested in getting to know a bit more about the sport.

You will have to register to be able to take part in the predictions game but here is the link anyway.

Jeezus man talk about being pedantic. :87:

By the way those pictures are * disgusting. :38:

I'd happily cut the noses off those * killing the Dolphins and see how they liked it.

Cows and chickens are killed for food. And killed in a more humane way than those poor animals are being tortured in those pictures. Those dolphins don't look much like they're going to be used for food to me. Looks like they just want the noses off them.

Oh well then if they eat them they eat them.

Those animals are still being tortured in those pictures. There's got to be a more humane way of killing them than what's going on there.

It's like when they kill elephants just to take their tusks or kill gorillas just to cut their heads and hands off. That sort of * makes me sick. :38:

McNaka, those pictures may well be within the rules but there was no need to post them, absolutely disgusting.

I'd rather not have to see the pictures of slaughtered animals when I go into a thread to discuss sports.

Get a grip of your self and stop being a pedantic, self absorbed know it all I don't care if those dolphins were slaughtered for food or not, nor do I care what it tastes like this is meant to be a thread about American Football not somewhere for you to post disgusting pictures of dead animals.

I only eat organic meat and dairy products, granted that's much easier to do in California... but still, does that mean I can be superior to both of you? I'd never eat an ounce of Dolphins from Japan, they are overfishing their stocks in pretty much everything and you know it. The fact that pretty much every other country in the world has disgusting practices of processing farmed animals doesn't change that. You took a playful thread and turned it south because of the obvious chord the Japan-dolphin thing struck, ffs it was just a joke.

Odd, the pictures I posted were clearly not Japanese. I'd guess they're from Faroe Islands. :56:

Personally, I have no problem with hunting dolphins. They're not endangered, and it's no different than hunting anything else except for some people have been duped into acting as if they're domesticated pets.

I don't think they over-fish it -- there is a demand for that meat and they come back every year. If anything these are better than your "organic meat" which says nothing of how the animals die, only how they lived.
These dolphins are truly "free range", are they are not?

I figured they were from either the Faroe Islands or the Soloman Islands, I really doubted you'd post pictures of the Japanese engaging in this. But yea, the Dolphins pretty much fit the description of free range and organic, but the way they are killed is pretty barbaric. I know they've "banned" the tactic of slitting their throats or cutting other arteries, but it still goes on to this day.

About the meat I eat, there are sources I know and trust that provide the animals with a decent life and death. You are right though, a lot of the "organic" tags provide no clues on how the animals are killed. I'm lucky enough to live in an area that produces a lot of its own food, so it's easier to keep track of the methods the companies use.
