    It depends on what level. At the top academy level here more and more academy's are free which for instance is the case for the academy teams at Chicago Fire.
    At lower levels pay to play is still the norm.

    This is my point though. It's growing, it's taking off, but it's not there yet. As I said, compare it either to NBA/NFL ratings in Ireland or soccer ratings from 20 years ago. As it is you're basically comparing it to the Super Bowl which is idiocy. You're not actually refuting anything that I've said. I'm not sure you even understand what I'm saying in the first place though.

    You tried to say to him that something "would be over his head" yet you can't grasp the plain and simple point he's trying to make.

    You're arguing over * all here, it's clear football is growing in the states, no need to bring in national Irish sports like gaelic football and hurling at all.

    And don't refer me to viewing figure percentages, they don't tell the whole story nor are they particularly relevant in this instance.
