Need to be careful we don't leave it too late. It's ok holding out for more money but then we end up getting him sold right before the qualifiers and then panic buying. Imagine we got £8 million for him ? What a steal that would be for us. Arguably would be the best sale we have ever completed at this club.

McGeady was the "star" of our team, so £10m+ was a great deal for him.

To get the estimated £8m+ fee that's being touted here for a squad player, is just *to quote another poster* astonishing!

Clearly you don't rate him, and that's your opinion. The fact is that we have rejected bids for over £6M for him. The old saying is, that something is only worth what someone will pay for it - ergo - he is worth in excess of £6m, regardless of your personal opinion.

To say he is worth only £2m is, quite frankly, absurd.

I think he meant getting 8m for a player, who possibly 4th choice centre midfield would be us getting the best deal in our history, selling wise anyway.

Although we got more from mcgeady deal,he was our best player

tbh i dont even think anyone said he was the next gerrard, just ki said himself that he wants to be a similar style of player to gerrard ( one of his idols )

just trying to remember quotes, not newspaper articles

Or even 5th choice, with most fans putting Kayal, Wanyama, Brown and Ledley in front of him. You're right about my post, I meant that getting that ammount of money for a squad player is better than getting a couple of million more for our best player.

get the dosh in and wanyama is wanting away as well sell him too and clear debt and do phase 2 at lennoxtown and invest in youth now that there in the lower division, and when they come back we will be debt free and lennoxtown completely finished and hopefully a good squad as well

    +1
That sounds like a good business plan. I think we could sell both Ki and Wanyama now and we won't miss either of them.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that.

And Venglos - we would miss one of our best young players very much.

guye we are in a mickey mouse league and if clubs want to spend big money on 1 or 2 then we must do it,reinvest in another vic or ki but make sure our scouting is well looked after and invest in facillities and youth.

My thinking too. Balance the books and bring the young players through from the Lennoxtown complex.

I don't think so Padmill. We are jam packed with talent in our midfield, and these guys are holding back Dylan McGeough's breakthrough.

That's a different story. I still see no evidence that Wanyama has said he "wants away"? The Youth facilities have been managed extremely well over the last few years and spent heavily on (to the tune of approximately £1m p/y)

I just do not understand that pal. Because we have plenty of talent, why should we get rid of such a talented and versatile player with his best years ahead of him?

If McGeouch is as talented as we think he is, he will EARN his place - and no one is HOLDING back his development, his development is being nurtured by the backroom staff.

    That would be fantastic :50:

Would this involve giving the youth lads an in-house education? i.e. would there be tutors or something similar?
