What relevance does Afonso Alves have? Suarez was scoring goals for fun in the Dutch league, he has as much relevance to Finnbogason as Alves does.

For every striker that scored goals for fun there and flopped there is one that scored goals for fun and didn't.

A player who has a 'good enough all round game' would cost a lot more than £3million. A lot.

we have neither the budget or pull for this anymore.
    So it's polishing diamonds/turds.

And the evidence suggests that Finbo is the former, not the latter.

You will never really know till you see him in the hoops.

Players react in different environments, just because someone had a bad spell somewhere you can't rule them out

wary?cant think of any striker that tore the dutch league up and came then came to scotland and was a dud.yeah theres a few that went to england or else where and failed in england,la liga etc.but to think the same players would have been duds here is laughable:56:considering the english and spanish leagues are hundred times stronger than ours.

But that wasn't your argument. It was why compare him to Alves and not Suarez. They both scored goals for fun in Holland like Finbo did. Both got big money moves to higher quality leagues, Alves failed, Suarez succeeded. So Finbo should be compared more with Alves. As the argument is that Holland is a league where quite a lot of average strikers can score a lot.

Same as here really. Larsson scored here, but so does Griff. Larsson could've played for any team in the world, Griff, i believe, would struggle to make the bench at Villa.

I've said it before but i heard someone on Radio Scotland (can't remember who but a pundit) said that we were looking at him and John Park had a full dossier on him and the value he put on him was £4m max and his club wanted £5m so the deal wasn't done. Looks like Park was right about a striker for once.

Well that's my point. I said I'm wary of striker from that league.

Since Finnbogason left he's flopped at two clubs.

Where did I say that they were duds in Scotland?

The problem is that we need a European quality striker. We already have two strikers who can score domestically, maybe even 3 depending on how Cole plays.

Total waste of money and time if we sign someone who will only 'tear it up' in Scotland.
