Nah, doubt it. Can't see us trying to sign him this year. Can't play in the same team as Stevie May. They're too similar.

Tony Watt is part of a bid, but calling 'bullshit' on the price.

Tweet translation using a website and my own cleanup:

Celtic still in the race for Finnbogason. Celtic want to make transfer bid where a Celtic player is part of the deal. (1/2)

It would be the Scottish attacker Tony Watt, who this season was loaned to Lierse SK. Heerenveen scouts have already watched him. (2/2)

    I agree.
Just passing it on, hope it is as I don't want to lose Watt.
I would rather Stevie May as he'd be a bargain compared to Finny and would be able to do just as good a job or more.

But screw it, let's sell Stokes, Pukki, Boeriggter and Balde.

Bring in Finny, Stevie May, keep Watt and Griffiths. :yeah:

:56: There must have been some right confused people looking at the Finnbogason article on Wikipedia.

Only seen May play once. Actually, I've probably seen him a few times without realising, I'd never heard of him until you started posting about him. Anyway, I can only judge him on that one performance and I'd have to describe it as "meh".

Finnbogason I had never heard of either until last summer and I've never once seen him play.

It's hard for me to feel any excitement about signing either player.

    Watt, on the other hand...

At least we share the same feelings for Watt, a great player who needs to be given the chance to prove himself and silence his doubters. Which he will if Lenny gives him a shot next season.

Both with us, I would hate to see Watt go, especially if Lenny doesn't plan on staying here much longer as he's the one with the supposed problem with Watt. Look at these goals from Watt in a game vs Heerenveen, Finnbogason only got one goal in this game and it was a pen at the end. I know it's just a friendly but those are cracking top notch goals from Watt and the lads potential for his age is frightening, he's got everything you want in a striker and he's not longed turned 20. Alfred is 25.

Second one is a belter, but there's not room for two more strikers unless Lenny is planning on moving Stokes out wide and getting rid of a few we already have and if I had to pick id take Finbogasson all day long.

I like Watt but i just feel he might find it hard to settle down in Glasgow and keep himself focused solely on football and i would hate to miss out on Finbogasson only for Watt to * it up.

I think quite a few will be out the door this Summer, Balde on loan, Pukki sold, The Fridge loaned, Atajic punted and Stokes will be a bench player next season imo. Space will be made.
Exactly, that's more like it and my kind of deal right there. Watt is one of our best players and imo as I've mentioned before our best striker. He's got a supposed bad attitude but I'm pretty sure we can sort that. Selling him is not the answer.

I prefer this thread when we are all just having a wee laugh about it. I hate when something like that tweet is out there because it just gets my hopes up lol

Might annoy people here but Finnbogason would have to be mental to join us in his position.

I think people are getting carried away with the guy period and we'd be mental to sell Watt to them imo.

Sure he's the Eredivisie top scorer with 29 goals, but don't be fooled by those stats because 10 of those goals are penalties, take them away and your down to 19. When you consider the 2nd top scorer in that league is Pelle on 23 goals, with two of his being penalties then it's a bit of a false reading.

Imo if this deal goes through then we're getting done here.
