Pretty simple, January spend of 9M pounds, 5M on finbo, 4M on Johansson and a midfielder to replace Ledley, if he goes and we are onto a * winner.

    Sadly this won't happen.

Just spend 9M... JUST?!?!? On top of the 9ish we spent already in the summer... along with losing sammy and ledley for nothing...

this is a fantasy football daydream... never ever gonna happen, and shouldnt either... only if we know we have cash bids for outgoing players... this has 'holding the huns hands' written all over it... our board are way too savvy to gamble like that...

    In:

    Taylor-Sinclair - £75,000
Yamada - Few hundred thousand, maybe?
    Finnbogason - £6m
    Friðjónsson - Free

    Out:

    Forster - £10m
    Ledley - £1m
    Samaras - £1m

That'd leave us with a couple of million to bring in a replacement for Forster & Ledley. Ledley's would obviously be less of an issue as we're fairly well covered in the centre of the park.

That's not even taking into account other sources of revenue like the Champions League.

Sweet mother of jesus. If we want to be in the CL next season we need a goal scoring striker and we need another creator. They cost money.

We have made an insane amount of money and i feel lenny should be given the chance to really spend a decent sum of money on two quality players rather than 3/4.

If we sell both ledley and Sammy in january we should be able to get around 3M for the two of them.

Leaving net spending at 6M, definitely not out of the question. If we really want to compete at the CL these are the kinds of players we need and these kinds of players cost that amount of money.

Stop bringing up the deceased please, so we spend 6M net in January and we go bankrupt are you having a * laugh.

He should bring in enough to cover the fee for Alfie at least, no?

We're allowed to spend money, by the way. We're not going to pop our clogs if we're not continuously making a profit.

People's valuations of Forster are way out in my opinion. The only way we'll get anything higher than £4/5 mil is if some mental English team comes in for him who is desperate for a goalie and willing to pay whatever it takes. Right now I can't think of any teams in desperate need of a keeper?

I was saying this in the Forster thread, I can't see any top half English side coming in for him. They're all fairly strong in the goalkeeping department. I don't think Forster would move abroad either.

We paid 2 mil for him. You seriously think his phenomenal performances in Europe and getting a cap for England have only pushed his value up to 4 million? Insane.

If we'd sold him in the Summer, we'd have got £10m no bother. I think his stock's dropped with the last Champions League campaign.

Yeah I don't think people have raved about him quite like they did last year, he was making the press on a global scale for his performances, I don't think the same can be said for this season. I don't even think he is being bigged up all that much by our own fans to be honest, people are always moaning about him in the stands and anyone i've spoken to generally agrees with me that he's not an all round great goalkeeper, but an excellent shot stopper.

If the daily hun is right and he has 18mnths left on his contract no way will they let him go now for 5/or 6 million.
They can wait till the summer and still get that amount.
i think Lennon was looking at the other guy.

Altidore was reported in dutch media around 10 mil euro's (
http://www.ad.nl/ad/nl/1442/AZ/arti...idore-rondt-transfer-naar-Sunderland-af.dhtml) and you forget he had wages what went up fast year after year so he was starting to earn way too much for AZ.

And with all that money that got in and no decent backup they have absolutely no reason to sell for around 3m pound in the middle of the season when he got a contract untill 2017.. We'll see it when NL (or another club) starts bidding but i don't see it happen tbh.

As a goalie myself I think Fraser this season has really matured and that he is a steadying presence at the back. More than just a good shot stopper I think just my opinion but he's the much more complete goalkeeper than joe hart
