He can't even replace Taylor as he is so bad. Just another example of just how bad or scouting system is

 

I just can’t compute how professional scouts can look at guys like this and actually recommend him.

 

The thing that gets me about a situation like this is also the money wasted. The board goes on about our financial limitations and being prudent with what money we do have. But yet they * away millions every season on a raft of project signings who offer little to nothing for us. We spent 3.75h for Bernabei now that is a lot for us to spend on a left back. Now I get it there are always going to be misses in transfer dealings but when you add up all the project signings we make every year that cost typically 1-3m or thereabouts it all adds up to not being so fiscally prudent after all.

How about we sign less players but look to shop so to speak in a higher bracket. Yes we will have some misses again for sure but I think as we saw with Jota and CCV much more likely to get in the quality we need to improve. Plus we still ended up making a tidy profit on Jota and would no doubt make a profit if we sold CCV. So the model of buying in at one price and selling at a higher one wouldn't change at all. Just the quality level would hopefully increase overall of the players we do have.

 

Is that no what we try and buy players with anyway.

 

Think we need to be more realistic than that. Magic beans don't grow on trees you know.

The goal he scored in pre-season just sums him up. Plays a shocking pass, chases after it like a headless chicken and is miles out of position. Pretty sure Rodgers was just standing shaking his head if I remember right.

Has to be one of the worst signings ever. He genuinely looks like a rabbit in the headlights every time he steps onto the park. Never seen a player fall over the ball so much. His technical ability is non-existent.

Actually makes Taylor look half decent which takes some doing.

Surely to * we have a LB ready to sign on the first day of the Jan window. Has to be everything Taylor/Bernabei aren't - strong, powerful, competent defensively but threatening going forward.

 

It’s a sad inditement on our academy that he makes the bench before one of the young boys. For every 5 or 6 projects, maybe even more, we spend between 1.5 - 2.5 million on we get 1 we can sell on for a large profit. However that “large profit” is actually a deficit in real terms because we’ve wasted 10 million, not including wages on the other 5 duds. How on earth is that a good business model???

 

Think a left back is a difficult position to fill for a lot of clubs, but * me him and Taylor! Must be reasonably simple to do better than that

It’s like he’s lost in the games. Fella just has his head in the clouds taking ages to make a move. Amount of times he takes a touch and looks around n gets the ball nicked off him. Braindead player
