This one definitely looks like it's happening. Reliable Argentinian journo above, him being in Europe sorting out his Italian passport, multiple reports linking us with Lanus players. Fingers crossed.

Had a wee look on Reddit to see if any Argentinians posted about him.

Looks an unreal talent going forward but judging by a couple of their posts he needs alot of work defensively. He'll be fine in domestic games you'd reckon but in the Champions League could be a worry. Screenshot_20220612-093211_Reddit.jpg Screenshot_20220612-093228_Reddit.jpg

Doesn't sound ideal. Unless we plan on using Taylor as first choice in Europe, who doesn't inspire confidence either.

So sounds a bit like Izzy...could skin people for fun when he first came in, but defensively may not have been that solid.

This guy can't be any worse defensively then Taylor when it comes to CL.

I doubt it, Taylor is lacking one major thing to his game for European football and that is pace. This guy has that recovery speed needed, so if he is signed I would expect him to be our first choice for Europe as well.

he's young, and began as a winger before being converted back. Normal that his defending needs work. No doubt Ange thinks he can improve that side of his game, which I'm sure he can.

If we're planning on sitting back, Taylor isn't too bad. As long as they don't target his height. Not sure if this guy would suit that.

Not that Ange will play that way much right enough.

Ange won't sit back. However will he have a choice? Sometimes barca etc just don't give you the ball back :56: gonna be a wild ride either way.

The getting out of pressing situations easily is insanely handy. As we will be getting that in Europe and as proved against Bodo couldn't handle it.

Its something we desperately require if we are to compete in Europe playing the football we do. Hart, Ralston and Taylor especially are guilty of treating it like a hot potato when pressed. Even Starfelt and CCV aren't the best at it.

100%. Cant remember who it was that mentioned how Guardiola required every one of his players to be able to dribble, but it's true that it's absolutely essential to that style of play. We take it for granted because they do it so well, but the amount of times they break a press by a full back beating his man is insane. Often Pep's full backs are the best dribblers on his team.

Having this guy will make a massive difference to our ability to play out.

Agree with both of the above.

It's another reason why I'd like someone like Itakura who appears very comfortable at bringing it out.

Tbf from what i've seen so far he doesn't look that bad defensively, but does seem to get turned inside out by anyone with a bit of skill on a 1vs1.
