    Unreal wasn't it. Boys a player 100%..

    Thank * for that :BR1:

Aye, the fact he can do that at right back....he looks like he'll fit us lovely. Big strong boy who's quick, overlapping and can pick his man out with quality..

    Yes please..

Àlex Valle renews his contract with Barça for a season and goes on loan to Celtic.

Brendan Rogers KEY in the footballer's departure to Glasgow. He has convinced him to join his project.

Tomorrow he will travel for a check-up and join the group

I get that not getting a LTB is disappointing, but if the contract situation is true, it makes zero sense for Barcelona to put him out on a LTB.

My guess is they'll want to see if he has a good season with us and Valle will want to see if he has any future with Barcelona, which he'll learn next season.

I don't think he was our first, second (Bueno) or even our third choice (Beck) so for a fourth choice LB, we've done really well here.

They have Balde and a guy called Martin, then their fans were mentioning even another youth full back that Flick may also want to play.

The concern for me wouldn't be Barca but if he has a great season with us then half of Europe would be lining up if that release clause is true.

But even for a season hopefully he's class.

I like how the deals come from nowhere until they are basically complete just like the Schmeichel one, hopefully we have a few more quite far down the line that will come to light in the next few days

Disappointing no LTB but it's a left back of supposed quality, so I'll take it

If the release clause remains (after his extension) at 3m, then no really any need to complicate the initial loan deal.

Can any team at any time trigger this so called 3m release clause?

Well this one came out of left field. A Barcelona left back of some quality.
He looks fast, great ball control, good height, decent in the air, and excellent both offensively and defensively.
Something we have been praying for years. Wonder if we can buy him at the end of the loan ?
And is Taylor's days numbered at the club ?

    Pretty much.
But player needs to agree as well to any move.

If he plays well enough for us and say Betis trigger the release, then we can match it if we wanted.

Not sure if I picked it up wrong mate but did one of the reports not say if he didn’t renew his contract his release clause would drop from 30m to 2.5m?? So then by renewing it it’s around 30m?

3rd paragraph here does this mean that because he renewed his contract his release clause won’t drop and will be 30m?

Haven't seen this much excitement over a new LB since Laxalt, Bolingoli and Bernabei :fear:

Yeah that's how I'm reading it.

Think things have been lost in translation here...literally. if his release clause was 2.5m euro currently we'd surely have just paid that rather than take the risk of him having a stormer and then losing out next summer?

My reading of it was that the deadline passed and the release clause is 2.5m now. The only reason they extended another year was so they would get at least something for him, if he does well possibly more. The loan makes sense because that means one less player registered to Barca and they need to push players out to register new ones?
