There's conflicting reports. Some say the new contract has a 25m release cause. Could be the dot was missed out and people continued sharing. 25m does seem more likely as 2.5m just doesn't make sense for Barca to include for a young talent.

Although a loan to buy would be ideal, the fact Barca want him back suggest we're getting a higher quality of player. Interesting it seems to be a Rodgers deal, so once again our recruitment team are non existent

Great motor and desire, went on loan to Levante last season from B team to improve his chances similar to Fermin yet picked up a muscular injury that derailed his progress as the coach was also fired

With Balde & Fort ahead of him and conceivably Cancelo a factor as well - still Barca had to move him, very strange how his contract has been managed over past 3 seasons but it’s the reality of the FFP constraints

No buy option which tells you the bottom line, confidence in the young player but they haven’t abandoned hope on his 1st team chances despite a loan move since traditionally Barca does not loan their youth players who they value

Still, it papers over the cracks again, next season when he goes back to Barca and Taylor goes for free by the looks of it we will have all this fun once again looking for another left back.

 

He looks class but it’s just got me wondering what our long term plan is for left back.

Wait on Teirney or hope we can strike a deal with Barca after his loan spell?

Or maybe we are planning on spending so much on other positions that we’d rather wait till next year to spend on a LB

 

No laughing, but a forward thinking club, brings in a permanent LB in January.. as we have a CL Qualifier next season.

 

I still think that we move for a loan because the club will bring in Tiernet next summer. Just hope he will be fit for it but we have nothing to lose really. Wont cost to much i would imagine.
