    Buy options mean next to nothing. It creates a price ceiling in that you know you won’t have to pay more than the amount agreed to get an offer accepted, but it doesn’t mean the player will have any interest in joining permanently.

    Just glad we’re getting a LB in.

    Looks promising. Reckon he’ll be in the starting XI by the end of September.

    I do find it odd that we’re only linked with loans for LB with Beck, Wijndal, Bueno and now Valle. Seems to suggest we have a plan for the position long-term. (Robbo? KT?)

    Barca fans seems to think he will be a future mainstay in there team and he is just being loaned our for 1st team experience. He's definitely the type of player we should be targeting but in a years time we are back in the same place. But being the recruitment team messed up and are running out of time this is probably the best we can hope for. It's a position we desperately need options.

    So Ralston at LB for CL qualifiers next season then?

    Undoubtedly a good signing for the short term, but that looks like all it will be. I'm already having flashbacks to qualifiers with Bitton at CB as we hadn't replaced loan signings that had left and we hadn't replaced in time.

    Apologies for bringing the mood down, it's been one of those days that has me focussing on negatives.

    I'm seeing mixed reviews.

    Many see Balde and Martin as the options moving forward. And some are even saying Cancelo could come back but that seems less likely due to finances.

    In general he seems rated though, its just mixed reviews in terms of whether he has a long term future.

    They don’t have a hope in * of Cancelo now, the reason we’re getting this lad is their fire sale on wages which has already seen Gundogan leave. They’re scrambling to get Olmo registered to actually play.

    To that end we’d be as well chapping their door for a centre half and centre mid as well.
