think about it though if you have nothing to do with scotland and there is celtic and a prem team after you who are you going to pick? the team that's going to give you the big pay day? players these days are all about the money fella, sad thing though

He was never a big name like you said buddy but people seem to think with a big name he will do wonders for other players ect, and IMO we need a different type of forward than del piero

Doesn't take the fact away the Keane himself performed extremely well. Your argument has no basis. Not one person in this thread has said signing Del Piero will single-handedly win us this, that or anything else. Everyone is talking about two things: his current ability and his age (and as a by-product of that the experience he can bring. Experience being the one thing this squad hasn't got).

It is not the same as Ljungberg. At all. Ljungberg was well past it years before he moved here and I don't remember a lot of people actually being that excited about him coming tbh.

I want Del Piero here but I think if we go head-to-head with an English team we’ll come out second best.

I think he was comparing him to Keane because he was a big name signing. Keane did well here though considering the team he was playing in.

I've said already I doubt he will come here but if he does end up in England it will be because of the lure of the EPL. Not a "pay day".

This has been answered already. Next.

I would agree with you with this if a poll was done that would happend but am sure if you done the same at the time for freddy, robbie keane and roy keane they would have all been a land slide

people may think he is worth it but we thought that in the past with all them others above :50:

Maybe you should ask Ledley, Hooper, Lustig, Wanyama and Brown. All could have signed for premiership clubs before they came.

anyone that supports our club and doesn't want a legend like del piero needs their heads tested.

what we need now are players that will make a difference in the champions league. players that will inspire our current squad to play above themselves, players that can produce moments of sheer inspirational magic. players who have been there, seen it, won it.

and people think there's a better option than del piero!!??!??!??!

    * sake.

Lies. Fee was undisclosed but BBC reported it at 3.5 million. We were never interested.

Not for Ljungberg I don't think. As I said I don't remember there being much euphoria at the time. He was already past it and everyone knew that.

Robbie Keane has been answered as well and I stand by my opinion that he was very good up here and you can't say because we didn't win anything that he was suddenly a bad signing.

Roy Keane deal was good in principle and he did play well imo but unfortunately the injuries he got meant he was out of here quite quickly.

    Dear lord. From SSN.

Reports emanating from Italy claim Celtic are in pole position to land Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero. Del Piero is available on a free transfer after leaving Juve earlier this summer

Aye no bother mate. Your making hundreds of sense with that comment. While he's at it why not go play for free at Pollock
