You really like Del Piero don't you.

He might still be decent player, you're right I don't watch Italian football, but imo he is not what Celtic need right now,his age isnt the only thing making me sceptical either, his wage demands would no doubt be ludicrous and he'd spend more time on the bench than playing.

We don't have a player in our team over the age of 28. Our policy will still be to bring in young players, but surely an exception can be made for Del Piero. I don't doubt that his best days are behind him but he's still a great footballer and the experience he'd pass on to our young players would be invaluable for their development. People seem to be doubting his ability because of his age rather than how he's performed recently which isn't really fair.

    Edit: Forgot about Zaluska.

He is after about 20-25k and his the move is not about the money as thats not the kind of person he is. Given what he has done in the game and the wages he was previously on, this is reasonable

He was happy with the £20,000 or so Sydney offered him. Hardly ludicrous for a player of his stature.

I remember everyone saying the same when we got freddie ljungberg, oh he will be class ect look what he will do for players! look how that went wast of money when we could have done with a centre half at that time

think del peiro was class back in the day but for the money that we will have to shell out for wages IMO it's a waste when we can get a target man in who is younger and we can get more a return from

I meant big name players who have passed it,over the last few years this has been the case with players we're being linked to.I mean two years ago it was Sol Campbell ffs.

Actually signing blasts from the past like Ljunberg, hasn't worked out very well, remember all the expirience he was going to bring and the shirts he was going to sell?

Ljungberg lost it long before he arrived at Celtic. Del Piero was a Juventus hero to the last.

    Why not?

Arsenal can give CL football, EPL football and big wages.

And of course London is a brilliant city.

I’d also be worried about Spurs. I think they can ultimately offer more than what we can bar CL football.

Ljungberg never reached the level he did and was shot long before he came to us, I never actually wanted us to get him at the time because of this. ADP is a different player to Ljungberg and you cant say he will be the same because Ljungberg failed

I just don't see it. Can you really see him going to Arsenal or Spurs?

Doubt it will happen but would love to sign this man. For those who panic over the age, I give you Lubo Moravcik.

Why would he come to Scotland before England?

If their interest is genuine, then yes.

Why would he be opposed to that?
