Wee run of games here have exposed there's a player in there after all. Hopefully Ange can keep him as motivated as he looks right now.

I remain pleasantly surprised - if he continues like this, I will happily continue to be wrong. Seems to have the hunger for it which is great to see.

Playing on the counter, making late runs into the box, between two defenders, etc definitely suits him. Will get that more in Europe, you’d think.

He’s turned into a * pest to play against. Full of wee elbows and closing down and wee runs.

    Prophetic :fear:

Seriously though, it's no surprise to see him looking better & scoring goals when we finally have a bit of width about us that are attacking the byline and throwing in balls to attack.

Last season was a write-off and pre-season was before Ange had signed players and put across his system.

He's never going to be a ball of energy like Kyogo or a battering ram that drags players wide like Dembele but he will score you goals if you give him chances <18 yards out.

To be fair, he is a lot more energetic than I think he gets credit for. He’s just not very fast.

Aye, he doesn't have that explosive energy that adds extra danger to a strikers game but he does put himself about a bit.

Was in the right positions, and that eventually gets strikers goals. I think it's clear we need pure crossers on the wings at all times. It makes us deadly up front.

Has defo picked up his game.

He looks like a poacher. His movement off the last man and between defenders is clever.

He’s one of these totally annoying * you would rather have on your side

At 5 million the jury remains out, but if he’s hungry - and he seems to be (Ange getting something out of him?) then wonderful.

He looks physically different too. I wonder if perhaps a screw has been turned in the head. Ange is a standard Aussie - in a different sport I flourished when our pro was Australian. I was still *, don’t get me wrong, but I was infinitely less * as the sheer demands and mentality suited me.

    it didn’t suit others.

perhaps ajeti will relish it. Plus he has an actual ability which I did not

He looks about 2 stone lighter and has from the first minute of pre-season. He’s came into this season fighting on his own and Ange has only added to that.

Amazing what a bit of confidence and a run of minutes can do for a striker eh! The permanently wrong in this place will be looking the other way in this thread I suspect.

Dont think he will get bullied.
Is coming onto a game and goals always help-3 in 2 games is decent return.
Actually looking forward to see him and Gogo together.

Edouard leaving no doubt has given him a bit of belief again and he's taking his opportunity with Kyogo out brilliantly. Hopefully he keeps it up at the weekend!

Not to do with Édouard leaving it's to do with getting game time. No coincidence he gets 2 full 90mims and is starting to look like a player. Strikers need confidence and goals give them that. The rub is they need minutes on the pitch to get those goals.

But Edouard leaving and Kyogo being injured is the reason he's getting minutes? He doesn't play if Edouard is still here simple as that.

Yeah but Edouard leaving hasn't given him the confidence. That's what you said originally. It's getting the minutes. If Eddy was still here and he got back to back 90mins it would be the same outcome.

Anyway no point arguing over the fine details. He's getting the minutes and showing he has something. Happy for him.

Delighted for him. Such a good player and he now shows it. Edouard leaving has only made our attacking play stronger.
