Hey folks, just looking for your thoughts on young McGeady.

Unfortunately i don't get to see the games as much as i'd like living in Ireland, so i mainly see McGeady in action during the Champions league and Ireland internationals on telly.

The lad is obviously very highly rated, player of the year n that, and is undoubtedly a big talent! But in the CL i havent been blown away by him and to be honest, i find hes been all but anonymous in an Ireland jersey!

Lemme kno how ya rate the lad, and how big a talent you think he really is!:50: Hail Hail

I think he's one of the best young talents in Britian, nay Europe! Mcgeady could give Ronaldo a run for his money, just the fact Ronaldo plays in the EPL

He ripped fulham apart on saturday. Hes just as good as ronaldo at taking on players and dribbling only thing ronaldo has better is probably heading.

He's anything but world class but he's young and I'm looking for a big improvement this season. Needs to work on when to let go of the ball and also improve his shooting. He's worth his place in most games and in particular at home.

comparisons with ronaldo are a bit insane, but he's a fantastic player and the best thing is he's obviously willing to work on his flaws based on the way he improved his distribution, crossing and left foot last year

Aidan is a fantastic talent and on his day he is as good as any winger. He is starting to use the ball a lot better rather than trying to do too much and gettin caught in possession, however he is not the finished article and his final ball and his attempts on goal need to be better. But hes improving all the time and will be 1 of the celtic greats in years to come especially after signing his new contract!

Exactly. A bit of competition for his place wouldn't do him any harm either.

I aint saying he should score 40 plus goals i mean like the way Ronaldo added more each season to his game , And has become a better alround player , Mc geady should be set a target by Wgs around the 10 goal mark should be his target ,

He needs to be more consistant and at the same time needs some one there sitting waiting on the bench to give him that competition and desire to push him on even more ,

And at the same time the rest of the squad need to add more instead of hoping Mc Geady can pop up with abit of magic ,

His end product has improved many fold in the last season and he was by far the best talent/player in the SPL last season. More of the same this year from the wee man will prove it wasnt a one off and he will be the main man in delivering Number 4, just as he was in delivering Number 3.

You can clearly see, and i know, he has been working on his game after training which is superb as many in his position take their skill for granted and * what they have up a wall.

Comparisons to Ronaldo are ridiculous. Ronaldo is one of the 2 best players in the World playing in one of the hardest leagues and he is a Champions League winner on the brink of a £70 million transfer.

Think we have to be realistic and realise we are never gonna produce that level of talent instead of walking around with our heads up our * :84:

    No offence intended.

    I mean the way Fergie set Ronaldo targets going from 7 goals , 10 goals , 15 goals , 20 , then 40 etc ,

If Wgs sets Mc Geady a target like 10 goals should be expected and he should be able to reach that target if he did this season then next season it should be set , at 15 ,

Ronaldo has improved his game so much in his 5 years at Man utd working with one of the best managers in the world ,

Sorry mate. I was more referring to earlier posts saying he was just as good as and could give Ronaldo a run for his money.

I agree the way Fergie has brought Ronaldo on is excellent and i know Tommy was doing a similar thing with Aiden. Just hope someone has taken the reins over from Tommy. :50:

i agree with all that, he is a fantastic player, bags of potential nd just as gd as n e winger in the world on his day
    ,
he just needs a little more confidence, because one game he is the star of the show nd others u dont no he is there, so more consistancy as well. And we say he needs more goals nd assists, he gets loads of assists nd when we have 50 goals between our front bhoys goals arent a nessecety, however they are welcomed
He will be a celtic legend no doubts about tht, he also has the loyalty which many stars lack nowadays
and he can only improve :p

    The boy is brilliant.

Like any winger he'll lose the ball sometimes but the kind of guy u pay to watch.

    Celtic legend in the making.
