i dont think he needs to though....£8m bid gets refused...players form dips as a result and his value then starts to drop...then his options actually widen as his value would be acceptable to more clubs. It happens

 

true enough though, I don't know where this "promised a big name signing" nonsense has come from, Neil Lennon simply said it might require a marquee signing to get the fans back, a fairly unambiguous statement, I don't doubt for a minute we've explored such options e.g. keane/bellamy but ultimately the deals appear to have proven too expensive. I still wouldn't completely rule out a big name before the window shuts though

i would prefer if we got three players for 3 million rather than 1 for 9

once again why do folk think we were 'promised' a big name?, we werent at all, lenny just said he'd try and get a marquee signing but he didnt make ant promises, if mcgeady goes, i dont think for one minute keane or bellamy will replace him

 

If we have money to spend we MUST look at our defence. Its our biggest and main worry this season.
