i have said this time and time again - hes an overrated * who has wanted to leave for the last two years. he seems to forget where he has come from, £30,000 from hibs. why is he complaining? the team is doing well and telfer has been very steady this season and imo backs up the right flank more than agathe. he has never shown emotion and would comtemplate twice if he left the parkhead door.

Dont get me wrong, Telfer was a good temporary replacement, but Agathe gives us more options when he plays. He has more pace, and can get up and down the wing all day. The problem last couple of seasons, was that MON didn't allow him to get forward enough.
I say let him back and see what he adds to the team against ICT on Sat. -

Torq: i feel totaly confused coz i dont understand a word :)
back to the topic: i dont think that loosing agathe is good for a club... we havent so many deffenders to afford it... the season is long and nobody could forseen what will happen -
going back to the original topic i feel that he is trying to hold GS to ransom - 'play me or i leave'. One thing thats sure however - GS is not MON and he will not fall to players who have been regulars in the past.
plain and simple - i want him to goLast edited by a moderator: Sep 23, 2005 -

i think agathes a good player&i hope that strachan does give him a decent chance, but if he wants to go,then fair enough!

I hope Gordon plays him , imo a far better defender then Paul Telfer, cause i think he's a far better tackler , far more pace and he is more alert then Telfer. I think had Agathe played against Rangers we wouldnt have lost.

ive noticed it here on the forum before that when someone is out injured for a long time, members seem to have this lovely picture of that player in their heads. i.e. agathe, pearson, kennedy.
its a bit like my da talkin about players in the 70's saying 'he was one good footballer', and its amazin how many players he said that about. selective memory - remember the good displays - the bad ones are long forgotten. -
A just meant mate that on the day , a thought Telfer was skinned for pace , but a don't think Agathe would have .
Would agree with you on your other points though mate , Kennedys last 3 games before he got injured were 3 excellent displays , but before that,he was poor. -

Agathe has been a good servant to the club, especially for the money we paid for him, but his attitude stinks. Not the first time he has wanted to leave Celtic, maybe he could have moved to Juventus, but also he could have failed to make the grade and ended up at a Championship team. He has never shown any gratitude towards Celtic, and he is constantly miserable, so he can go as far as I'm concearned. How many first team games has he played over the last two seasons, not enough to demand a starting place at the cost of Telfer, I think Agathe is under the allusion that he is better than he is, plus at 30, his blistering pace is not so evident any more.
Fed up reading about his complaints and moaning in the press, he will never play for a bigger club than Celtic, either shut up and win your place back, or leave. -

Agathe is a gd player, u just have to watch the ball he crossed 2 Larsson in the UEFA cup final 2 c that. but for me he is a player who either has a gd day, where he is really good, or a bad day where hes crap! mind u thankfully its been more gd days than bad and i love the pace when he runs up and down the pitch!! but this season i'v also been impressed with Telfer. for someone who was just meant 2 b a stand in hes done really well. the better player will get the position in the team and the other will just have 2 try harder whether its Agathe or Telfer ill b happy

Agathe is a legend. Nobody gets more of a cheer when they get the ball, everyone just wants him to drive and time and again his runs cause havoc in the opposition defences. Quite often he does it against rangers, i also looked into the fact that when celtic play with agathe against rangers they tend to win and without the record is not so good.He offers something nobody else does, a whole new dimension to celtics game.

I dont like him as a right back hes a right mid anyone can see thats where hes more dangerous with his speed up the wing.

Don't even try to compare Telfer with Agathe, Telfer stands out like a sore thumb as our weak link.
Thankfully we play poor teams most weeks so are never under any real pressure, but when ever we are he struggles. With his lack of pace he isn't particularly good going forward either, always plays a sideways ball or a long diagonal cross, never attacks the opposition. -
what the * would you know lenny ?! telfer is * yeah but so is everyone else besides sutton of course.
