    However, when Sunderland inevitably go through their period of despair this season (probably from the first to the last game) at least he'll be able to sing a soothing song to calm down the raging fans.

    Gutted to see him go. One of my favourite players over the past few years, it's a shame he's struggled with injuries. When he was fit and on form he was great for us, a pretty flawless performance when we beat Barca springs to mind. I can't remember if it's the same game but I remember an amazing performance from him in Europe at left back. Sad to see him go but its probably the right decision from the club :54:

    I dont know what is more depressing, us losing a trusted first team player or the fact that the hipsters are loving it. Even though I seen this coming last year I am still unhappy that we * another negotiation, if in fact we actually tried to negotiate with him. We are pathetic and if we fail to qualify this season then we deserve it. Selling first team players and replacing them with youth players is too risky. Our club has peaked. We will never equal Lennon's European success with this constant downsizing.

    I think you'll just have to accept that some players just dont want to extend their contract and when that's the case we need to sell them. That's the world we operate in.

    Jesus christ how have you not * topped yourself, do you live your entire life in a state of constant despair?

    We knew Matthews was going to leave this season, we already have Lustig who was in the team before Matthews anyway. We also already got in his replacement before the deal was even done! His replacement is from the reserves of a top English club, just like Jason Denayer.

    But no, clearly this isn't good enough Celtic, we're going in the completely wrong direction. :31::31:

    He marked Messi pretty well. When he came back at the tail end of the season he looked a bit short on confidence, I hope he gets a run of games a realises his potential.
