Quickly became one of my favourite players when he moved to Celtic.

Shame injuries have really set him back.

I am really, really hoping he comes back soon and shows us the kind of player he can be.

Injuries have stopped him from playing, but in no way have they 'really set him back'. He remains the best RWB in the land, and one of the best in his position across the continent.

Adam Matthews is a decent player. I don't think he is one of the best young full backs in Europe as some on here say but he is still an asset to the club.

If that was true he wouldn't be at Celtic. Lustig is a better player than Matthews. If both are fit Lustig will start.

I agree. He's got some potential but he's no way near one of the best RBs in Europe. That's nonsensical.

Lustig is a better RB than Matthews, and is a better defender.

Matthews has proven his worth his weight in gold in terms of his attacking qualities, as seen on both domestic and European competition.

Dream line up? It would certainly contain Lustig at RB and MAtthews in front of him.

Really? He's every bit as good as Rafael (imo) who is constantly touted as being one of the best in the world.

There is no reason why he can't go on to be a top player though. He has all the key attributes at the age of 21. It is just a matter of whether or not he continues to progress as a player.

Both them are among the best in the UK though. Id probably say

    1. Zabaleta
    2. Ivanovic
    3. Lustig
    4. Coleman
    5. Johnson
    6. Walker
    7. Rafael
    8. Matthews
    9. Debuchy
    10. Sagna
    11. Richards

Id say they were the only actual good ones worth over £6million.

I would have Matthews in my team before Rafael. I don't understand the hype around Rafael. I don't think he has progressed that much in his time at Man Utd.

Lustig would be a starter for a number of Premier League teams. Without a doubt. He is arguably our best player atm.

I agree Lustig is slightly better, but Matthews has bigger potential. He's still a young lad that will grow to surpass the Swede.

The only other RB I like as much would be Coleman. Rafael is quality, too, but gets too easily unsettled. He might cost Brazil in the summer.

Lahm and Zabaleta are probably the best in terms of experience and reliability.

ETA: I did say 'one of the best', by the way.

Rafael is a decent player, think hes been held back by injury, decent footballer and good at getting up and down the wing.

I think him Matthews and Coleman are all quite alike, Coleman is 4 years older than Matthews though and 2 years older than Rafael who is obviously 2 years older than Matthews. In 4 years youd not be suprised if Matthews was the best.

I can't believe Lustig is only 26....he's this good and not even reached his peak age yet!

Matthews is a boss for someone so young. He's way better than Kyle Walker and the only prem RBs better than him are probably Zabaleta & Johnson. Coleman has been fantastic this season also.

I would certainly have Matthews at RM ahead of Forrest. I can see Forrest progressing into a more central role like McGinn has done at Aberdeen. Forrest has shown he has a natural instinct for finishing. I feel he is wasted out wide as his crossing isn't the best. He could be the striker we are crying out for.
