    We need this lad to be top-class this season.

    I fully agree with those who suggest it'll likely be him as the next big-money transfer to the EPL.

    I like the positivity, but we're all about buying and selling, these days, unfortunately. I do love having Matthews in the team, though, and hope he remains at the club for a very long time.

    I doubt we will be selling players that truly don't want to leave.

    There will be a limit to our new model, forcing players out the door wont be part of it hopefully.

    For those who are in love.....
    To a degree players won't be rushed out the door unless they would command a big fee and profit on what we paid for them...

    For instance Ledley is happy here and I could imagine him sticking around for years..
    Matthews on the other hand is very young,exciting and has the potential to go to the top,that in itself would make it too hard for the board once the bids start coming in to reject...

    There's not many young British up and coming right backs that I can think of and that makes him attractive to epl teams..
    I'm just guessing but I think he'll be here another 3 years or so and we could get anything up to 7/8 mill if he keeps on improving an developing..

    Hoping he stays for a while and shows the same loyalty like Ledley has. Feel he gets underrated a bit. When people talk about our best players, it was always Wanyama, Hooper, Ledley, but I feel like Adam's came on leaps and bounds and will be key this season. It's also a testament to the scouting team that we have two quality right backs in Lustig and Matthews.

    If ever a Celtic defender was going to be, he'd be your man.

    Unbelievably good player. When you consider Glen Johnson, Liverpool's RB yesterday, cost their club 17.5m to secure his services...:smiley-laughing002:

    I honestly think Matthews is a better defender, too. Much more reliable.

    I'd like to see him play a more advanced role ahead of Lustig in big Euro games this season. Got the engine and work ethic to track runners and an abundance of pace to hit teams on the break.
