    What a signing this lad is. It's quite difficult to come across good young full-back's, we've done really well here. I can't wait to see Matthews progress into a brilliant player, all the signs are there.

    Been very impressed with what I have seen from this lad. Last night there was one occasion that I remember he was beaten, but he had the speed to be able to get back & recover. Think til Izzy returns Matthews should stay on the left, Wilson (barring injury) on the right, if Rogne can replicate his performance from last night then he should partner Mulgrew in the centre. Stop rotating & keep as settled a back 4 as possible.

    The boy shouldn't be so hyped up for now. He will become a great player in the future, but just for now, he will be exposed frequently with his defending at the moment.

    He has been our most consistent defener for me so far this season. LOL now I know that doesn't say much. But jokes aside I have been very impressed. As much as I love Mark Wilson if everyone is fit at the back I would have Mathews as first choice at right back with Izzy on the left.

    thought should open one a thread about him as theres alot of talk on other threads about this guy !! i don't know how people can criticise him .. he been one of our best players, if not out BEST this year. very impressed with him every time i see him and also playing out of position !!     Thought he done great today. Not as good as Izzy done in the same position before he got injured obviously, but he's still young and will improve as he gets older.

    I like him good footballer and seems a nice guy. Struggled with that Humphrey at times today but still done well as Humphrey can outrun anyone in the League apart from maybe Cha even though Matthews himself is one of the fastest about.
