The whole thing surrounds the "grooming" part.

If he had a one night stand with a girl who he thought was 18-19 or whatever, but turned out to be 15, then I'm sure he would have received a bit more sympathy, and understanding.

The fact he knowingly groomed her as an underage, shows that he is a sick * and deserves everything heading his way.

Right. Don't know the story but I agree there's double standards when the genders are reversed. Doesn't make Johnson any less of a scumbag though.

Indeed. And those double standards are what make any wee boys in that position think twice about reporting it, as they'll be ridiculed for not wanting to "pump" an older woman etc.

    * up society in that respect.

She can't stay with him now. Now that the legal stuff is pretty much underway and he's plead guilty. She's probably been advised to sit tight and support him until yesterday..

Now she'll be fine either way with his share of money, although I know that's not the main priority..

People think he won't get another club again? I'd bet he will. Ched Evans was ok (at football) and as soon he came out Oldham and other's were keen. Look at the Plymouth goalie, that scumbag Lee Hughes who by all account's as well has never shown remorse for crimes which are right up there that killed people..

I think if you've done something that wrong then you shouldn't get the privilege of coming back and earning a fortune. Fact is, Johnson is a very talented ex international multi millionaire. He'll have a que of club's in my opinion..

You would be correct. There have been a few threads posted where the roles have been reversed and the boy is deemed lucky, with the usual "He should be grateful" remark thrown in for good measure.

I'm sure that was when the lad consented.

The important part to remember here is he admitted "grooming".

If that was ever admitted by anyone in court, male or female, I doubt you would have the same posts praising or slagging the victim.

I can't remember the exact details of the cases mentioned here, but I'm sure one was a female school-teacher and male pupil, in which case I think that qualifies as grooming.

I don't have any sympathy for Johnson btw, I would do if he randomly pulled some older-looking 15 year old in a club environment that should only have contained over 18's, but he seems to have gone out of his way and knowingly had it with this under-age girl. I do think though that there's a disconnect between underage boy and older woman, and underage girl and older man in the way society reacts to situations like this.

He is clearly guilty os something, even though at this stage it is unclear what all the facts are.....but what i find annoying is that it is not clear (to my knowledge)how the law regards the perpetrator based on age.
    e.g.If he was 17, would he be a beast? 18? 19?

The law has to draw a line, but where does society draw the line.ie, how do people in here feel about such scenarios?

He is 26-28, not sure when it started.
If he was 16 or 17 or 18 how would it stand up in terms of the law, or how would he be viewed by society?

What age is 'ok', and what age isnt? From the little i know of the law, it only refers to the age of the victim.

Which is ridiculous, if we're honest. Having someone guilty of what you mention being tarred with the same brush as a guy in his 30's * about with kids under 10 years old is mental.

Aye, I think I read something about judges being allowed to use common sense now though. So * knows, that was a good 11/12 years ago that happened.

You can get put on it if you're repeatadly caught pishing in public as well.

You can get put on the register if you FAIL to pay the fine for pishing in the street as well which is * mental! Basically means your a sexual offender......if you don't stump up the cash for being caught.
