Yet folk are also saying Kyogo is off it and not his best.

Idah, whatever way we look at it, hasn't been great overall.
Last few games is better, but not "excellent" it's signs for positivity and confidence going forward. Let's hope it is.

The point is, we aren’t talking about an inexperienced youth player in Idah. We are talking about a player who has played in the EPL, Europe’s elite competition and has got near 30 caps for his country. I’d say he is more than ready to carry the weight as being our number 1 striker.

Yep. He's 24 next week, nowhere near a kid.

Make or break time for him now.

How are you going to handle Adam Idah now? Do you get the metaphorical cotton wool out?

No, no, you've got to be robust.

You can't want to play every game and then look for a rest. No, no, listen, we've got to put in the work, as I said.

I was just conscious that we've got 16 goals on either side of the field and the idea was to bring someone else in to support Adam, rather than having to sacrifice those 16 goals to bring back inside. Then you've got to find another winger that can score 16 goals. But either way, we'll be strong mentally, physically, going into our remaining games, whatever team is out there.

As I said, there's still a lot for this group to achieve and I'm looking forward to seeing that over the coming months

Adam Idah insists he is happy to take the mantle of Celtic’s main man up front.

The Hoops ace was braced for striker competition to come in on transfer deadline day but Parkhead chiefs couldn’t get a deal over the line. Idah wasn’t too worried and he’s told boss Brendan Rodgers he will relish the opportunity to spearhead the attack for the run-in with Kyogo jumping ship in January. The Ireland star – has notched three goals in his last two games – said: “It’s nice for me to have a lot more game-time on my hands. We’ve got a really strong squad and plenty of young strikers in the group who can do a job

We’ve seen Johnny Kenny, and back in Ireland he was flying. We’ve got plenty of options in the squad and we have strengthened the group with Jota coming back and Jeff coming in now. It’s exciting for me. It’s what I wanted. It’s why I came to Celtic in the first place. I’ve come back again in the summer, and I’ve got a big responsibility to take and I’m ready to take that.

'When you're playing football, you want to play as many minutes as you can. I’m ready to take that role now.' With this squad, it’s all about the team. We have a great squad

At the end of the day, we all want the same thing and that is to win as many trophies and titles as we can. It’s exciting times, and hopefully I can carry on this goalscoring form that I have been doing.”

Idah insisted Celtic fans will be wowed by new recruit Jeffrey Schlupp – who he faced numerous times down south. He said: “I’ve played against him back down in England, and he is a fantastic player.

I think we’ve all seen videos and the goals that he's scored. I’m really excited to play with both of them, to be honest. It will be a great for me as a player, and it will be a great chance to get to play with them

“I think I played against Jeffery on my debut, and he was unbelievable. We’ve got the same agent, so I know a lot about him.

“From a young age, I knew he was a top player, and from hearing from other players, they seem to say the same thing. So I’m really excited to play with him

Best striker we've had since Kyogo left, undeniable.

No even the goal. It's his hold up play now and usomh his body to turn defenders and win freekicks..

It's night and day. He genuinely looks like a proper Celtic number 9..

The flick he got on the ball to force the save before his great finish was also brilliant.
Confidence oozing from every pore, well done big man:57:

He's showing what he can do. I think the prob is he was never getting a run. You can only do so much as a sub, especially if the team are winning by a few and just sticking in second gear.

He reminds me of Sutton as well, how he rolls defenders and wins the free kick.
